Has anyone had a good experience at this event?

My DD6 says that she will not be at WDW and not attend a BBQ with Mickey.

I am trying to find a good reason other than, she really wants to go, to book this expensive and from what I have read not very good character experience.

I was going to book it but I read so many reviews how it was very unorganized, etc.. so I decided against it. Many people said to the HDDR instead if you have the money for it.

my advice... tell her bybbq is closed and book hddr instead! we LOVED hddr... considered bybbq but opted against it when i read it was not air conditioned (and we were going late august/early sept!) and not indoors (think mosquitos!) although i liked the food selection that i read!
