We got our MBs yesterday and the only thing I can say is, how big does Disney think human wrists are?! They are like twice the length of a watch strap! Can you cut off the gray part without affecting the performance or "degrading" the rubber? If you have done it can you post a picture and let me know what you used (scissors, xacto knife, ??).

The bands are designed to each be TWO LENGTHS.

If you peel the longer band off of the shorter "core unit," it will become a "kid-sized" band.
That shorter length may be what you need.

Seen below, peeling the lighter grey band from the much longer darker grey band will get you
the kids-size band.

IF you just want to cut the longer section a bit shorter, just don't cut any of the "lighter band" in the process.

The grey part is made to be removed completely for child sizing. My wrist is so small that I just removed all the grey and had no problems using it. You can also just trim the excess off and melt the edge with a lighter a bit to make it smoother.

Does anyone know what size (inches) wrist the child size will fit?

I don't know in inches, but just wrap the band around your wrist and make sure the inner part of the band makes it around, and then you'll know it will fit when you take off the dark gray part.

The absolute tiniest these will go (last two holes in the child size with the outer grey removed measures 4 inches (interior) circumference.

On the widest two holes, without the gray = 6 inches.

Laid flat (as possible) with the gray removed end to end = 7 inches.

Since my wrist circumference measures 6.5, I can't remove the gray and was worried leaving it all on there tucked inside would be a problem, but it fits me fine.

Do yourselves a favor and buy a slider to go over your band. It gives it added security in case the nubs break. They have small ones that I think are better than the big ones that look too bulky to me. I have a Minnie Mouse Head on mine.

People have trimmed the grey, when their wrists are sort of halfway tiny and halfway not that tiny, and it's been fine. I believe I've read "nail scissors" a few times to describe what they used.
