My 3 kids and I are meeting my husband in Orlando. He will be at a conference, staying offsite. We bought a 5 day park ticket for him so he can meet us as he is able to. We will be staying onsite. We have our room reservations ( a package), and will be making our FP+ reservations very soon. My question is, if I buy a magicband for my husband and link it and the ticket to my MDE account, will I be able to include him in our FP+ ressies at 60 days out when I make ours? or will I only be able to make them for my kids and I?

He will have to be listed on the reservation as a member of the party staying at the resort. I am not an expert, but I would think you can add him to the reservation (just don't mention that he won't actually stay in the room) and then you can make his FP+ with yours. I am not sure though, but I think a WDW guest room can have 2 adults and 2 children as occupants. Everyone would get the 60 day window.

We are staying at Pop Century and have the limit of 4 guests in the room with myself and 3 kids (17, 15 and 12).

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't catch it was 3 kids, I was thinking 2. Yeah, you will be over the occupancy limit with that. I don't think in this case your husband could be added for the 60 day window FP. If you make sure to make his FPs at 30 days you should still be able to get most anything except 7DMT and Frozen Ever After. Those are the only really difficult ones to get. You may have to shift some times a little, but you can change the ones you made for you and your kids. Also, looking for one person availability increases your odds of getting something with an overlapping window. Good luck!

You can book FP+ for him as long as his profile is linked to you account and he has a ticket. You don't have to buy a magic band.

Yes, you can book at 60 days as long as you book all the same fastpasses.

Magic bands are just a link to you account.
Tickets are linked to your account.
Your hotel reservation is linked to your account.
Fast passes are linked to you account, limited by the tickets you have linked, and authorized for the extended period by your resort reservation.

Actually, if he's a MyDEx "friend", FP reservations can be made for him at the 60 day mark. It's one of the lesser-known aspects of the system that when the 60 day window opens for the guest with the reservation, they can make FP reservations for their MyDEx friends who have ticket media. (The friends can't make the FP reservations themselves, it has to be done by the guest with the room reservation.)

Ah, see, I did not know that. That's a great perk!

To be clear, the friend can be included in the reservation holder's FP+ plan. The reservation holder cannot make separate FP+ reservations for the friend.

This - but you only need one person on the reservation to make the same FP+ as the Dad at T60, so you can separate the party you would like to. We have family that joins us and stays off site; some want rides that others don't (tot and RnRc for example) and it still works as long as one person in our room is in the FP+ party.

Just to add a bit of info, it may require that the guest with the room reservation has permission to manage the other guest's plans, but I think that's the default.

Hmm. Not sure exactly what you're describing here, but I can confirm that for my trip next month, I made FP reservations for a friend that are separate from our own FP.
Even if they are required to be together, I'm pretty sure one could then immediately modify the plans for one of the guests, so the effect is the same, it would just require an additional step. The system has evolved so frequently that we all, myself included, have to keep up to date on how things work on any given day.

That is interesting - we go often and I have never been able to make a 60 day FP for my nieces (offsite) without adding someone from our party (onsite) to the FP? We generally do all the same FP+ reservations but they like Tot and no one else does. Anytime I have tried to do a separate FP+ for them it greys out the calendar but if I make it for my dd and my niece its fine (they then switch bands). This was the case at the 60 day window for or our trip this week in fact!.

I hadn't thought about modifying them alter though - I will try that when our April window opens :)

OK, I think I remember something.
You're right, that it requires having a member of the reservation listed. So, here's what I'm remembering. Suppose Diane is on the room reservation, and Glorp is offsite.
So first, make the reservation for Diane that you really want. Then make a reservation for Diane and Glorp. On the next screen, you'll get an error message that says "hey, Diane already has a reservation. Do you want to remove her?" You say yes. In the meantime, you've already passed the 60-day gatekeeper for Glorp, and you should be able to proceed. Pretty sure that's what I had to do with my off-reservation friends.
This one is really obscure, and I didn't discover it myself. I think I heard about it from the guys on the Backside of Magic podcast.

So I will have to make a FP ressie for myself and the kids and then add him to it?
In your situation, it'll be easy - if you want to make FP for all four of you as a group, just add all four of you together when making the reservations. He can be included right from the start. If DH wants to do a different attraction, the simplest thing would just be to make one for all four of you on the same attraction, then modify the FP and change only his attraction/time.

Book your FPs as a complete group - your DH is included.

As long as one onsite person is selected when booking, the 60-day window umbrellas over the booking group. The onsite guests can even be 'toggled out/deselected' and the group still benefits from the open window.

Moving to the FP subforum.

What happens with extra magic hours? Will he be allowed in the parks early with us on one of the days and stay late on 2 others?

Add his name to your onsite reservation. He'll receive a MB and will be allowed on rides during EMH.
