MB and Jellyroll's

So we went to Jellyroll's and my fiancé and I only had our ID's and MB's. The concierge had assured me that Jellyrolls can easily bill to room via my MB. We get to Jellyroll's only to be told they have no way of using the MB's to pay for our cover charge. After 10-15 mins I finally get the manager to come to the door he gets it's squared away. I think whatever one hick up no big deal.

We finally sit down and I go up to the bar to get us drinks. I order, the bartender gets the drinks I than I say I have the band to pay with by the way. He physically takes the drinks out of my hands and says he can't bill MB's so he has to refuse serve me.(He had a major attitude from the start but that would take a whole nother post). I am livid now.

After getting the manager again and going to the other bar I get the drinks and that bartender easily scans my band and has me put my pin. Anyone have any similar experiences and is this "fixed" yet?. Or was the first bartender just being a donkey and their really is no problem paying with MB once your at the bar? This was the only MB charging trouble we have had thus far.

Just in case anyone does not know, Jelly Rolls is not in any way owned by Disney.
It is an independent establishment sitting on Disney property.

I imagine that in no small part is the reason for (at least) the initial difficulty.

Should the Disney concierge have known better and should the Jelly Rolls staff handled the situation better?

Ah I did not know Disney did not own any stake in Jellyroll's. Makes more sense, I just wish the CM had told us before we left GF with only our bands and ID in hand. Somehow the manager was able to scan them after some time and work on his end but Disney should inform their guest or get Jellyrolls setup with the RFID technology to read the bands easier.

Disney not owning Jellyrolls may explain the bartenders god awful attitude. Thanks Robo for the info.

You couldn't charge back to the room with your KTTW card at Jellyrolls either, so nothing's changed, but it's unfortunate you got bad info.

We had dinner at Fultons Crab House at DTD sitting at the bar and about 1/2 way through the dinner the bartender saw my bright green MB and said, "are you charging this to your room ?" When I said yes, she paused for a moment and said, "Ok, but this requires a bit of a process" and it was as she twice had to get the scan machine and then the charge machine then have me sign it with the tip, so it was not a smooth operation.

My take on this, is the restaurants are still trying to figure out the best way to handle the MB and the process will improve over time.

On the other hand, we had no problem charging our food and drinks at the Top of the World lounge.

In Jellyrolls their is a bar to your left and right when you enter. After dealing with the bartender manning the left bar we went to the right bar. Never spoke to the initial bartender again(like I said should not be working in the service industry had attitude from the start and it wasn't only with me).

Yep. bad info. Jellyrolls doesn't even take Disney room charges since they are neither owned nor operated by Disney. Most third party operations on WDW property are set up for Disney room charges, but they're not, and the Swan and Dolphin are not either.
