Hi guys, has anybody driven the Mazda 6 car? I'm looking at booking one of these with Hertz in July, there's only 3 of us so any info would be be welcomed.

Thanks
Pete.

I saw this on Hertz myself for our August trip(also 3 of us), I followed one today and really like them, would have no problem at all if I got one but problem is with all rentals you are not guaranteed that car, they have so many in the intermediate range I would not be happy with. For 25 nights is about £40 extra to go for full size which I know I will be happy with.
Main problem for us now is DS is 6' 3" so he needs some leg room in the back seats, intermediates are hit and miss on that.

I know what you mean Wayne with regards to the space and not getting what you want, my lads only 10 going on 13 (size wise) so should have enough space in the back.

The Mazda 6 looks a nice car just wondered if any body had any first hand experience of driving one, for some reason the cost of hiring from Atlanta airport is more than Orlando, must be down to the state taxes?

Pete.

p.s. Defo going to use Quidco and the Mastercard code, cheers Wayne!

We got a Mazda 6 last summer for our trip: DH, DS (also just over 6' 3") and myself with loads of luggage because we were there for 4 weeks and had also taken over things for DD in extra suitcases (she's working for Disney at the moment). I didn't drive it but DH absolutely loved it! It had masses of space inside for DS and loads of boot space for luggage. It had the option of being fully or semi automatic and had the usual extras - CD, cruise control etc. Would quite happily have one again.

Thanks for the info Mrs TT, that sounds just the job for what we need, fingers crossed thats what we get when we get to the rental desk.

Thanks.

Pete.

Well I have owned an old version (2006) version Mazda 6 for the past 3 years so I guess I do! Is a nice all round car and good to drive, will be loads of room and boot space for 3 people. The back seats and boot are particularly good space wise compared to most similar size cars. Newer one is possibly even little bigger than mine so will be good.

Would definitely take over plenty of other cars in intermediate range myself.

That said, I wanted something different to what I have at home so have booked an intermediate SUV for our trip!

got one and can say the boot and inside space is great,Just got back from skiing and got all our luggage in no problem.( 4 adults with 4 cases and 4 carry-ons)
will not go back to taxis to the airport now just park up at airport
Only downside from our trip was the 4 hour delay due to Manchester being shut for 3cm of snow,at least we managed to get though 1.8 metres on the way to talouse from anddora
