MAYERS VII - Here we go again!!!!!

Thank you Trix :)

Actually, this new camera I have has 14x optical zoom! Most cameras have 3x or 5x zoom. It really works well and the picture quality is wonderful. There are no disadvantages using zoom, except in very low light situations. I don't use "digital" zoom because the pictures come out too grainy. Optical zoom is the best because the lens glass is doing the work for you.

Sea~As always, to your trips and photo/video. Amazing. You make me really wish that I lived closer to a park! Or Hawaii, for that matter. Do you ever wish that your camera had more zoom? I need to get one before my trip and I know there are some with more zoom than yours has. Do you think more is overkill? Are there any disadvantages to having more? I don't want to have a full-sized camera (DSLR) so I know I have to watch the size vs. zoom capability. Thoughts?

Glad my link worked and you found it...haha
Some days I am computer savy...some days I'm ...well not so much.:lmao:

Wow... a new thread! It took a little longer this time, but we made it! :thumbsup2

Lake - I think that's going to be really cute! You'll have to keep us posted when you come up with more :goodvibes

Yes, Sea - I always noticed that my pictures get really grainy once I zoom in past a certain point. It will be nice to have a little more wiggle room if I buy a new camera.

I *JUST* started playing with the settings on mine and I've had it for like 3 years. :rotfl: It can do a lot more than I thought! I started learning the macro settings and all that. I apparantly have an 'aquarium' setting that takes AWESOME pictures of fish behind glass. I always used to avoid it because I would get a glare.

Sea- I just noticed your ticker... your trip is so close!!!!!!
Anything particular that you are really excited about this trip?

First Mari, then NC, now you, and soon it will be RF, me, Trixie... We are definitely making sure the mayers are being represented at WDW this summer and fall arn't we.... :thumbsup2

Our Disney Plans!

We were originally supposed to go on Sept 25th, but couldnt find any decent priced flights leaving on Sat morning - so BOB. Yes that's right. :confused3Bob, insisted that we go down the night before so we wouldn't have to late a late day flight and miss a whole day at our favorite place. I SWEAR that I didn't want to do this. But, he did it all on his own! He called and made a reservation, booked our flights etc..... and he found a good rate too. :thumbsup2 Apparantly, since we booked a room only ressie - we were able to use another code, so we got the room discount and it's actually cheaper for us to fly in Fri and book a room than it was to fly out Sat morning. So we did it! Yay us! :woohoo:

Anyway.....

Casey is taking off school Friday, so she's coming to our house Thursday night so we can eat some dinner and watch movies and she'll just spend the night with us. Our flight leaves PIT at 1:35 Friday the 24th and arrives at MCO at 3:50. We check into Pop for 1 night, and we are still debating what to do on arrival night. I know that we *should* eat at the food court (one of my fav's BTW!) and swim, relax, take some pictures and reaquaint Casey with Disney. :goodvibes But I am thinking we might grab a bite and go take a bus to MK and monorail (or boat) to the Poly to watch Wishes on the beach. We'll play it by ear.

Usually I use TGM and make a touring plan, but this year we are winging it. I know for a fact we are going to AK on Sat and then meeting up with my aunt, uncle and cousin that night after they arrive (their plane doesn't arrive until 7ish that night) and then we're all doing MK on Sunday. But other that that, we aren't really sure. My aunt made ADR's for every day and I did the same, so we can have an option of where to eat because we don't know which parks we'll be at but more than likely it will be

Sat - AK
Sun - MK
Mon - DHS
Tue - E
Wed - Universal (not sure if we're still doing this or not. We'll see if we all have the money to do it or not)
Thurs - Free day/ whichever park you want to go back to
Fri - MK
Sat - E for F&WF
Sun - Flight home :guilty: at 8:15

i`m here! i`m here!

sea - im actually leaning towards buying the camera u have...is there a good setting for an aquarium on it?

RF ...that looks great! You guys are going to have sooo much fun.
When we have gone in the past we have always done each park twice to try and see everything we can over the week.

This year is so very different.

I have no idea what park I would want to go to on my own... or what 2 parks we should visit with the kids in January.
At frst I assumed we would definitely do MK. But I know Ethan would love to do the whole Toy Story thing at DS. So we are leaning towards it a bit more...and still wondering if MK would be our other.

If you think planning a week is hard...imagine if you only had a day! :rotfl:

Since Trix mentioned my Kauai trip (ha ha!) I have some more pictures to share...

Do these waterfalls look familiar?

More to come later!!! (The longest photo trip report ever!)

Aloha!!!

That is the coolness about digital - playing with all the settings and testing them out. That is the best way to understand and get the best pics from it. In the old days, I used to write down ALL the settings, fstop, shutter speed for every picture I took then I reviewed them all after processing - seeing what the best settings were in different lighting situations.

Now every picture has the setting digitally embedded in each picture! I was in heaven when I discovered this.

So, keep testing, take hundreds, thousands of test shots and you will learn and gain knowledge of your camera and you will be happier with the results you get.

Wow... a new thread! It took a little longer this time, but we made it! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to Epcot and riding Malestrom! It was closed last time.

Also, having a meal at Le Cellier! :D

Going to the water parks!

We are also meeting up with our VMK friends at different times. It will be to see our friends.

Kewl Mari!

You could use the "Indoor" mode for the aquarium shots. Just be sure to turn off the flash.

I am doing good, RF!

My son went out for a job interview - they called this morning and asked for him to come in right away - so hopefully it is a good fit. Don't know much about the details except that it is for a production company. :)
