Maybe Rich is right..

I didn't mean to start a "let's jump on Rich thread". In fact, I was trying to prevent the new group who responds to every pro-OKW post with a laundry list of their own complaints....similar to Rich's comments about BWV. I guess we all know to take these comments from both sides with a grain of salt and to love our neighbors anyway. ;)

Rich,

Thanks for reminding me why I don't post on this board anymore.

I am constantly amazed at the way people "jump all over" Rich when he gives what are obviously exaggerations to make a point--yet, when other people (for example EROS says he only goes to OKW to watch the grass grow)-- make similar exaggerations, no one says a word. This is NOT a bash against EROS!!! I always chuckle when I read his comment about the grass growing (or flowers or weeds or whatever). I know that he means, for HIM, the atmosphere at OKW is just TOO relaxing--he doesn't mean OKW is a terrible place!! When Rich says the halls at BWV are 1.2 miles long--it is clear he means the halls are very long!! Well, they are long!! It's a truthful statement but that doesn't mean BWV is a terrible place either. The animosity towards certain
DIS posters is really disgusting!!!! I know we all have a right to our opinions, but do we have to be nasty to other people--especially people like ourselves who love Disney and DVC??!! Let's try to "Make nice" for a change!!!!

Hey, everyone needs to lighten up. Both resorts offer unique qualities.
Well said. :D

By the way, VWL is the best DVC resort! ;)

I enjoy listening to the acorns fall from the trees at VWL.

So glad you enjoyed our "home"! Please disregard all "bashing" on this page. Just a thank you form me for telling the "truth" about the OKW we love.

What a funny thing to argue about!

Really, we should be so grateful just to be able to own ANY DVC and enjoy it. Although I too am an OKW owner, I would be more than happy to be able to walk down BWV's long hallways(or those of any of the DVC) for a quick vacation.

And, I don't understand what's SO offensive about Rich's opinions. These are resort hotels we're discussing for goodness sake, not a major political decision.

One of the reasons many of us bought was the diversity of the sites. Now, we can't wait to learn the theming of the newest DVC at the Institutes.

Dumbo, you weren't voted off this board, I hate to hear that your not posting here anymore. Your thoughtful and courteous posts are missed, I hope you'll return.

SSSSH. Don'y keep spreading the word how wonderful and spacious OKW is. We truly feel that we are coming home whenever we vacation.

To be honest, we usually use the BWV studios when we have friends that prefer privacy, but always use OKW for family and close friends. A few times we have split the time. Everyone prefers OKW.

From the pictures I have seen it looks as if the 2-bedroom BCV have less space than the 1-bedroom at OKW - no thanks. Location is not everything.

Uh, isn't that a post?

Hey guys, I didn't mean to start a debate. I just wanted to say that the days at OKW probably saved our vacation!

Now all I need is lessons from Rich on how to survive a vacation with the extended family ;)

I just had to post and say that I have gotten a big kick out of this thread. I have been reading Rich's comments for a couple years and still laugh from time to time. I also loved the 'bunny' comment. Also, it is amazing to me how personal some people take these harmless jokes about the resort.

I have not yet joined DVC so I haven't experienced either resort, but this must be a great club if it makes people so passionate about their ownership.

By the way, I am looking at BCV for purchase. Is it true about the service road running right through the lobby?

Hyperbole is just that. Just grin and move on.

:earsboy: M.E. <-- future neighbor (fingers crossed)

I had the pleasure of staying at OKW for the first time last month.
We planned a last minute trip to Disney and OKW was the only place we could get a reservation for the size unit we wanted.

I will have to admit when I first arrived I really didn't like OKW at all. But once we were settled in and I got a feel for the place I really enjoyed my stay.
I still like Boardwalk a little better mainly for the location, but I would stay at OKW again.
My two girls loved the pool area very much, the sand play area is great.
And maybe it was the time we were there but the pool was almost empty.

I think one of my favorite part was the boat ride to Downtown Disney. We had the boat to ourselves and the ride was very peaceful and pleasant.

Lol, and thanks, I hope you don't mind if I use that a few hundred times. That's way better than 'one paper towel....'

Old Key West is awesome!!! BWV are Incredible. WLV are Amazing. Haven't stayed at any other DVC resort yet, but what I can say is that you get the same value in all of them. Lower dues, lower points and larger size in one are offset by location, atmoshophere and activities in the others.

I don't know how many DVCers feel this way, but I truly feel like an owner in all of the resorts and love the possibility of staying at them all. Couldn't be happier with DVC.

Feel free to use my obvious joke about the service road, but don't replace the old ones. Besides, you will likely get a lot stronger reaction than I would anyway.

mikesmom,

Glad you enjoyed OKW. You will notice some posters get offended ;) when they make comments about other DVC resorts. It is all in fun:D . Some people have to lighten up and take it with a grain of salt:rolleyes: .

P.S. Rich, keep up the amusing "posts":D

MY guide told me they were tearing down OLD keywest to expand the golf course...:) will anyone really miss it?

JoeBlack is back! Haven't seen a post from you on the DVC board in awhile. Nice of you to return with words of wisdom. I also like to feel I'm a part of the total DVC, not just one particular resort.

Pluto...

They weren't going to tear them down, just turn the studios into private driving ranges.
