Okay, so i live in Florida. A new law is that you cant take nude pictures. No i am not a slut, or a *****, or whatever you want to call me. For one I am catholic and a a virgin (and plan to be until marrige)...so just warning dont call me any bad names. But it is you cant take nude pictures of yourself, i think this is wrong. I know at 2am in the morning at sleepovers i will be with my friends and we will be silly and tired and stupid an taking pictures, and i have never taken a nude picture nor has my friends, but as we get older i wouldnt put it past us. then one of might text it to our boyfriend (like i said IF). Know if anyone does this in the state of Florida and you get caught you get labled as a sex offender the rest of your life. We are teenagers, okay we do stupid stuff and dont regret it alot of times. It is what makes us, us it makes us uniques..we are being silly, not perverted. Plus you know how as a teenager you try to see how far you can get away with things (i know i do) and you rebel all the rules just cause you want to show people you are your own person, and mommy and daddy cant control you, this gives us just another oppertunity. It may just be me but i think this is wrong, let teenagers be teenagers. It was on the news and my dad saw it and said it was ridiculous..MY DAD SAID THAT....it was awkard but yeah he disagrees with the law... anyways, what do you think about it. I dont think you should become a sex offender because of this. Do you?

sorry i know it is long.

How would they even regulate that?

Eh, to me it is ridiculous, unless it's an older person sending nude pictures of himself/herself to a younger person. Whatever you do in your own home is your business.

Well I think this law might be to stop nude photos of teenagers being sent to everyone. Like if someone sent a nude photo to their boyfriend who then sent it to everyone. They could be charged as a sex offender because its considered child porn.
If its against the law for adults to take nude photos then that is crazy.

I dont think you should be labeled like that its total BS.
Just another reason to say "Welcome to the United Soviet States of America. All hail Comrade Obama"!:worship:

What if you didn't ask for the picture and some kid sent it to you?
Would you be labled as a sex offender?

Labeling someone as a sex offender is way out of line. That's like labeling a teenager a sex offender for having oral sex with their younger girlfriend (or boyfriend) even if it is with consent. That is so wrong to punish someone like that. A sex offender is a sick, twisted person not a randy teenager. Same with the pictures. Teenagers don't think straight half the time! Why on earth would they punish someone like that?

It's just you.

Do you think it is right for them to do that? That will mess with someone's life even if they don't want it to! If you get a nude picture you'll be labeled a sex offender even if you didn't ask for the picture.

exactly..it is the teens private life.

private life?
maybe.
child pornography?
definately.

creation/distribution/possession of child pornography is a federal felony.

now, once youre over 18, send as many nude pictures as you want (just not to minors) i don't care. but child pornography is a felony, and it can really come back to bite you.

And soon they will ban sex too. What a great free country we live in.

I thought political discussion was banned.

Well...what if it's two 15 year olds sending them to each other? They are going to label that person a sex offender for their ENTIRE life because of some stupid thing they did? That is really wrong of the state. They need to take into consideration that these are just kids! Kids make dumb decisions.

Are they going to ban teenagers from having sex? Are they going to punish underage drinkers and smokers as harshly as the ones who send nude pictures? If you drink underage should you get a lifetime stamp on you that says "ALCOHOLIC"??? Sex offenders have to register and have restrictions on where they live because they are sick. A teenager sending a risque picture to their boyfriend is not a sick person, they are just learning and being stupid.

Maybe law enforcement should focus on actual risks in the community they work in instead of some teenager wanting to look at their girlfriend in a sexual way via a picture. Maybe they should focus on the sickos who roam the street even after killing and sexually assaulting innocent children. There was a 13 year old girl killed in Cincinnati recently because some sick man who had been charged in a murder before and suspected of killing and sexually abusing THREE other young girls was let out onto the streets because he got into a fight at his group home he was staying at. His parole officer was not notified of it until three days later, too late for this girl he killed and burned half of her body.

This is really touchy for me...if KIDS are going to be labeled a sex offender for sending naked pictures back and forth with someone around the same age as them, it's just a sad day in this country for me. These are teenagers, around 16 years old sending pictures. Not 17 year olds looking at 5 year olds in a sexual way.

*Throws fist in air* GO GET EM!!!! You took the words right outta my mouth!!

I don't think this law is only in Florida.

Not only will it get you on the National Sex Offenders list for life (mooning someone from a bus can get you on the National Sex Offenders list), but a nude photo of a teenager is considered child pornography and whoever were to forward or even view the photo could get into serious legal trouble.

Unfair and overcontrolling? Maybe....

But even if there weren't a law against it, nude photos can damage a person for life. I recommend doing your best to prevent the scenerio you described from happening. The National Sex Offenders list is not something you want to be on. It stays with you for life - you'll pop up on the map of sex offenders. You won't be able to adopt. You'll have difficulty getting a job. Is this harsh for something as silly as mooning/flashing/sending naked photo? IMO most definitely. But you and your friends know the consequences, so you can make sure that it doesn't happen to you.
