I try to keep up with the posts here, but maybe someone else posted this and I missed it. I saw on Disney.com today the BTMRR rehab is officially scheduled for Aug 24th to Nov 19th. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Thanks for posting -- I'll make it on the e-night. I guess we will be riding it multiple times over and over and over. Sorry for all those who will miss it on their trip. Grinning Ghost I hope you get on!!!

anyone know the history of how these closings go...do they always last as long as they predict..or do they often go longer???

I'm sure we are going to miss this ride either way as we are going mid October right in the middle of the dates...

Is there a thread where they have all the abbreviations posted? For instance I don't know what BTTMR is either. Thanks

Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road.;) SM-Space Mountain SplM-Splash Mountain HM-Haunted Mansion POTC-Pirates of the Caribbean....these are the ones I know.:o ;)

I am sorry for everyone that will miss it! :( DH and I will get to go on it 8.23 at least. Wheww... one of my favorites-I am glad we will get to ride it!

Whew! I will be able to get on at least one day of our trip...

Its a shame for others though.
Incidentally, there was no mention of the Festival of the Lion King rehab to enclose the theater.

Now,if that becomes official before then, the 23rd will be a busy day for me.. zip fom MK to AK to catch the show

Thanks for letting me know. We will be missing it, trip dates 10/23-10/29., but at least we are prepared for the disappointment. I already told the family,:( . The Magic of Animation in MGM is also closed for that time. Hopefully nothing else will be down. Its been almost 7 yrs since our last trip, so there are a lot of new things for us to see.

On the aside question of abbreviations...go to the Home page scroll down to tech support on the left and click on the frequently asked question thread and there is a link to all of the common abbreviations used on these boards...and some not so frequently used!!!

Personally I have been on bttmr in several years, just seems kind of slow and boring compared to rides such as Rock n Roller Coaster. If someone had not told me I would not even know that is was going down.

side note: Thank you princess lovers mom for the abbreviations link.

Man, I am going in early Sept and late October and will miss it both trips. I had hoped it would be back up before the end of October. I can deal with it, I'm just a little disappointed because I'm taking my mom in October. She hasn't been to the world since 1990, and while she doesn't like a lot of thrill rides, she would actually ride this. Plus, I was looking forward to riding it during MNSSHP. Oh well. Could be worse. It could be my favorite, Splash Mountain.

I hope that the rehab stays on schedule (or finishes early) our trip is Nov 15-25 and this is DH and ds's favorite!!

Ugh. I guess I've already prepared myself for it, but it still stinks. Unfortunately it sounds like ToT is going to be closed also the week that we're there too.

I still don't understand the logic of marketing the FTP and then closing two major attractions at the same time, but that's the way it goes.

I'm hoping that there's so much else to do that we'll hardly miss it.

Phew.....

Looks like they will have my favorite ride up and running when we arrive in December. I was really hoping it would be back up. Mickey

I was hoping it was just a rumor. This is the only coaster our daredevil son is tall enough to ride, and our daughter hates SM. Oh well, last time we went the haunted mansion was closed and dh sulked every time he walked by it.

Thanks for giving the info on the official word.

Julie

My family is going to be bummed! It was the only bigger ride my 5 year old would go on. Oh well, not much you can do. One question, does Disney ever finish a rehab earlier than expected?? Just curious.

What a huge bummer!! My dd's were too young for any of the big rides when we were last there(4 years ago) so we were really looking forward to the big rides this year and I thought BTMRR would be the perfect ride to get them prepared for the others.

i'm sorry for those who will miss it, but we'll be leaving on the 23rd, so i'm glad it is later. we'd prepared ourselves for it to be closed, so having it open will be a pleasant surprise. :)

Thanks for remembering me Kallison!:D I guess after we run to AK to see the FOTLK, we'll run back to MK and get in line for BTMRR first thing. I anticipate long lines for BTMRR on the 23rd, but as long as I get one last crack at it, I'll be happy.:D
