Maybe I'm Losing My Mind This Time...

So as my toes begin to tap ready for my DDD in a few days time :cool1: I am finding myself having minor worries about some really silly things! I'm not exactly a novice to the whole WDW thing, this will be my 16 trip (I think) but for some reason I'm edgy.

I guess this trip is particularly important and meaningful to us. We have had gone through absolutely hell over the last few years as some of you know, and this is the first time we have been able to go to our happy place without it being hijacked by grandparents and ending up as a taxi service.

So what am I worried about...

Never flown with BA to Orlando before --- I have flown about 250,000 miles with them on other routes --- and I'm worrying that their P.E. won't be as good.

Spending money --- we have decided to take less than we usually do this time because we have a bunch of gift cards to spend for our clothes shopping and with the dining plan and all of our park tickets paid for already, we don't think we'll need as much. It's not that we don't have more money to change up if we chose to or that we couldn't access money on our ATM or credit cards if we needed to. I keep telling myself that $2200 will be more than enough, and then my brain switches to BUT IT'S FOOD & WINE!!! :rotfl2:

Perhaps the most ridiculous of my needless panic attacks is that something will go wrong with the Car Hire!! Why...I don't really know!? :confused3 I have never done fly drive before and I have never hired a car with Avis so maybe I'm just a bit incompetent when it comes to change! :rotfl2:

All that said...102 days can't go by fast enough! :thumbsup2

And breathe.......

Sounds like you need a holiday!!!!

As you say, you've been enough times to know that if any of your fears come true, you have the experience to put things right again. All will be well.

I think most people have nerves about something as our holidays are so important and we look forward to them :)

I'm sure you have everything covered and as long as you have your credit card then you should be fine :thumbsup2

If you're going for two weeks that's about $157 a day isn't it? Even giving over $50 a day for potential tips, that's $107 a day for frippery :)

We get more neurotic every trip. Weird I know, must be me getting older ha ha ha

i can't remember how much we usually take..
but when we have dining, i know we need less...
we mainly just need for the tips and emergencies..

i put souvenir purchases on my plastic, but i charge on an american credit card - so no conversion charges....a different situation...
if i had to pay the conversion charges, i'd pay cash too... :)

Not all UK CCs have conversion charges. Mine (the Post Office Platinum) doesn't, nor does Halifax Clarity, I believe.

I put any major purchases on my CC but prefer to pay for meals, etc. with the Fairfx card as I find it helps me stay within a budget of sorts.

Our cruise bill will go on my CC though (might have to extend my credit limit) :faint: ;)

Rationally, I know that everything will be fine, I think I'm just having a mid life Disney crisis in my head! :rotfl2:

I have a US bank account too with a couple of thousand dollars in if I need it. NEUROTIC that's my problem!

$2200 should be ok...
how long are you going for?

2 weeks, but we have all of our tickets, dining plan and a $200 gift card to pick up for tips.

Exactly, what the hell am I going to spend $150 a day on? We have the free gift card that we can use for a lot of our tips.

I think that is my problem...I'm turning into my father, panicking over nothing in my old age!

We have the full dining plan too. I don't think we'll really buy much in the way of souvenirs because we have most of them from last year. We went twice last year. We might buy a couple of small items but I don't see us buying much.

Thanks for accepting and indulging my craziness everyone! :thumbsup2
