Maybe I'll just get both!

I've been looking at ereaders. I really like the kindle, esp. since I get a lot of amazon GC's from focus groups and surveys that I do. It would be great to have a kindle b/c I could get almost all my books for "free" using the GC's. Plus, I like amazon's prices and customer service.

But... I also really want the option to borrow from the library available on the Nook. Maybe I'll just get both and use the Nook for library books and other freebies like Project Gutenberg, and use the Kindle and my GC's to buy newer books.

Toting 2 ereaders when i travel is still less than a bag of books.

I don't really want to buy both, but neither device offers all the things I want/need. Grrrr.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

My friend has a Kindle and an iPad. He reads more on the iPad now. He likes that screen better than the E-Ink. I was thinking of getting an iPad and a Kindle for the E-Ink.

I know what mean. I have too many choice now myself. Like you get amazon gift cards from surveys and swagbucks.

I have trouble deciding I want a e reader , ipod touch, and driod tablet.

I want all but I know not get the e - reader if go with driod tablet because it comes with one . Sigh

I had the same problem when trying to decide which I wanted...I went back and forth between kindle and nook...I liked amazon better than B&N, plus I am not a screen of touchscreen, while I like the borrowing of library books, I had a hard time finding a library that particiapted in this, so I went with Kindle, there are SO many free books offered, check out inkmesh.com, that I am never looking for something to read, I always have SOMETHING

good luck

Well, if your main interest in the nook is to check out the library books, you have many more options than just the nook and several of them are now under $100. Older Model Sony Pocket readers are generally available now for around $95 and the smaller size (5" screen) is nice for tucking into a purse.

You can also pick up a refurbished nook now - $119 for the plain WiFi model, which you would have to sideload anyway from Overdrive so the lack of 3G for your purposes shouldn't be a huge deal.

Also, Overdrive is supposed to be coming out with an APP soon which will allow library eBook check-outs to smartphones (iPhone), the iTouch, the iPAD etc. There is another company, BlueFire that says they are really close making their APP compatible with Overdrive also. So if that is a possibility you might want to just wait.

You can read library books on the Kindle. It is a couple of steps but it works very well. Just google it. My library has a very limited selection of ebooks so if you are planning on mostly doing library books you should check out the selection first.

My daughter has a Nook, she loves it. However it broke down within the first 2 weeks. She had bought the extended warranty so she took it back to the store only to be told that she had to mail it in. She wanted the Nook simply because she liked the idea of having a store to return it to should something happen to it. Turns out that didn't really work. But she still likes it very much. I have a Kindle app on my phone. Not for everyone because of the small screen but it works in a pinch. I like the free books on Amazon.

I don't think many people have received a refurbed Nook yet because they just started listing them this week. They are giving the full 1 year warranty on them though - just like the new ones.
