maybe i misunderstood my on/offsite fp+.....

It’s because their names must not be on the reservation. Only Profiles that match up with reservation names open up the booking.

No, all three of us are listed on the reservation. Actually, they linked the reservation before I did and I get a message on my MDE that someone else is “in charge” of this reservation. I have an AP. We are all MDE friends so I just made FPs for all of us

Thanks! People also have problems booking if their MDE has Miss/Mrs etc. and the reservation was booked without those descriptors. For some reason, your DVC Reservation isn’t linking in the friends for FP booking which is different than trying to book FP for offsite park days prior to an onsite package.

how in the HECK are we supposed to use a FREAKING 7 DAY TICKET IN 5 DAYS THEN???? Because in MDE it says our tickets expire on the 5th. Which means that Disney intends you to NOT use them before you check in. I'm seriously freaking out. Planning this trip has seriously been one disater after another.
Regardless of what your info says, those tickets will NOT "expire" on the 5th.

Valid Magic Your Way tickets expire 14 days after first use.

There is no reason to check at 30 days. You do have a package and must wait until arrival. Your TA doesn’t know how “packaged” tickets are detrimental to booking FPs when offsite before onsite.
Am I the only one that finds that borderline unacceptable? Shouldn't this be something a TA does know? I get quite frustrated when there are TA out there not fully informed on Disney. I get it's complicated but it's their JOB! You learn the complications so you can properly advise your customer
@Herding_Cats did the TA know that you had an off site stay prior to moving on site? If not, then they are given a pass. If they did, I'd be all over them for not informing you that your tickets are not valid until your package starts.

Agree 100%. TAs are human. But even if the TA did not realize it worked this way, it should be on him/her to make this right. Right?
Either way. There is almost certainly a fix to this. It might not be perfect or exactly what you want. But definitely there are options that can make this work better for you.

They did know about the previous week's stay, which is why I'm incredibly frustrated right now. I think they just didn't know that it worked that way because i was told I just needed to wait for the 30 day window for the offsite park days. It looks like AoA is sold out of the 4 nights we are planning on staying, so I don't think that cancelling/rebooking will be an option. We will see. The TA is looking at stuff right now, and hopefully we can get some sort of resolution here. I mean....I would even do a throwaway site at the campground a week before we are supposed to show up (there are some available) just to get this fixed, if that's an option.

does anyone have a disney link for this because the TA is sticking to the "you have to wait for the 30 day window for those offsite days" rule.

There is no link to show her. You must have tickets to book FP. No matter if you have an on site stay or not. The missing piece of the puzzle is you don't have tickets until your package starts. You wouldn't have any of these issues if you booked room only and had separate tickets. Which is why your camp site idea won't work. Still no tickets. Get tickets, problem solved.

How does a TA not know you have to have tickets to book FP? Tickets tied to a package are only valid during the package dates. Unless you go to a ticket counter and have them activated early. Which you can do but only in person. Again, something any TA should know

I just sent this link because I feel like I need to have something to show how they think it should work is not *actually* how it IS working. https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney...tay-nights-offsite-nights-onsite-park-318970/ the 3rd paragraph basically sums it up. AND, if they're talking about a "3 day rule" for using your tickets before check-in, we can't even go to the parks with our big group without purchasing NEW tickets.

There's not a 3 day rule to activate the tickets. It's greater than that. Sadly, even the Mom's panel has wrong info online

seriously. if disney is going to have it on their official website, it should get fact checked. this is such a cluster at this point. Original house had so much hurricane damage they had to cancel our 2 week reservation that I made back in Feb. Replacement house had a vrbo fraud alert come up, and at that point i was tired of trying to handle all of the logistics and decided to concede control for the 2nd week and use a TA and now it's all falling apart again.

It’s totally unacceptable to me. If we can find this out due to people reporting back and us reading for 5 minutes on a message board, why can’t someone for whom this is her job do the same?

To me, that would actually be adding another layer of difficulty and a minefield of unintended consequences..

Unfortunately, you can fill a book with what's wrong on the Disney site, both published BY them directly and on behalf of them.

Mom’s panel is constantly wrong. Heck the Disney site is often wrong or misleading!

Nothing is falling apart. You’re just going to have to wait to do those days’ FPs. With the timing of that part of the trip it’s a big annoyance, but you DO have the stay afterward to fp the big huge important ones just in case.

Going with a huge group is not easy.

Going at that time of year is not easy.

No matter if you could FP things for the first part, it’s all going to require infinite amounts of patience and Zen. This situation right now is just helping you get there earlier.

If you’re still allowed to cancel with no consequences, I personally would first find a room-only for myself on the Disney site or hotels.com or Expedia or something. I would book something that sounded reasonable. Then I would cancel with the TA. But only if I knew she had no fees. Then I would buy separate tickets through Disney or undercovertourist etc and move on.

Regardless of what your info says, those tickets will NOT "expire" on the 5th.

Wanted to pull that out for Herding to make sure she saw it.

You can also send her @mesaboy2’s FP FAQ Sticky thread and specify the Split Stay section. I wrote that section if she has any questions.

Good idea. And it’ll be good for the TA to have the info.

To me, that would actually be adding another layer of difficulty and a minefield of unintended consequences..

Yep. TAs are an added layer, not a convenience, IMO.

Oh man, I’m so sorry for all this craziness! I totally understand the stress and complexity in planning a WDW vacation, but the offsite/on-site issues are just horrible! It doesn’t sound like your TA is doing their job correctly; is there anyone higher up in the agency than them who can fix things? Maybe change your package so the tickets are just for those days (so switch the 7-day to 5-day tickets). And then purchase a separate 2-day ticket, making the TA cover the difference?

To me, that would actually be adding another layer of difficulty and a minefield of unintended consequences..

Yep. Lesson learned. I'm kind of a control-freak about vacations because I stress out about trips, and I can work my way through 95% of that stress by doing all the planning and contingency-planning ahead of time. I was just never-ending with all of the other planning before we decided to go this route, and me starting to work part-time again, and I needed someone else do just take of stuff for me.

Way more common than you think, even among Disney "certified". I have heard several give such bad information and is a #1 reason I would NEVER use a TA at Disney or other complicated destinations. I'd rather do my own research and be in control.

Was once at POP and woman next to me with group stating she was Disney Certified TA, and she loves her job. They asked her about the AoA suites and she is telling them there is a King Bed, Queen Bed, Sofa Queen bed, Fridge (like implying a mini kitchen, not kitchenette). They were saying they would love that but had to be a king, she assured them.

Happens all the time. None of this issue surprises me.

I know it doesn't help you, but for future and any other readers. DO NOT trust the Mom's Panel, it's a contest, they won their job in a contest, it's not Disney providing info and has a high rate of inaccuracy.

This is all Disney says about Mom's Panel ....

"Panelists have received/will receive a Walt Disney World® Resort or Disneyland® Resort vacation for panelist and up to three family members and/or park tickets for their participation on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. The views expressed in the Panel are those of the panelists, who are independent contractors. These views are not intended to reflect the opinions of Disney Destinations, its affiliates, its management, its agents or its employees and have not been reviewed or approved by Disney Destinations prior to posting."
