Just a thought... there is what? Like over 100 CL_'s... why not call them all into action... have them arrive in mass to pretest events like this....

It would also be a nice perk for those hard working CL_'s to get a sneak peek of the event...

Oh it's a great idea, and I'm sure they would love to. VMK would always include CL's to help run events or even do the event like last year's maze. But then the boo boo crybabies started complaining and I guess staff got tired and decided no more cl helping in events as much as before. Which is sad, because the CL players really enjoyed it and it was fun.

It seems like if there are only around 100 CLs or so, then in order to really stress test the maze, they would have had to test only one or two colors at a time in order to realy fill the rooms to capacity, and also have the CLs run a couple mazes in order to test all the rooms. How many CLs would actually volunteer to be the testers for this mess, and how many would decide that there were better uses of their time? So to get most of the CLs to participate, VMK would probably come out with a special reward that would create all the complaints you imagined Stephen. I would love to have helped test the maze, although I am not a CL, even if all i got for it was maybe a pin for my character (like you get for doing the maze anyway) and maybe a thank you from staff, but I think there are other players who wouldn't want to take the time and find the problems.

I think the privlegde to test something like this would be enough for most people...

I also think given the chance and a few days notice, a lot of CL_'s would indeed try and show up to jam the system so to speak...

Kinda of like a AP passholder preview for rides at WDW...

Same but the problem is they could not have every single CL help so then the crybabies ooze out and start bashing those selected and start complaining about unfair life is and why they deserved it.

I think they should have CL's trying to get people through the mazes, too. But this time, we all received notices that our help was not needed. Yes, last year's event was a disaster. No question. This year's maze was only bad because nobody bothered to read the room's info. "Click on the teleporters". That's all anyone had to do to keep the line moving. Too many weren't following this advice, so the hosts had to open up the mazes. This created a backup in the second room, which led to people being bounced out of the maze. Opening up the queue length was also not a great idea. I waited in a queue at 98, entered the first room, and was booted from the next because the line was too full. Makes for unhappy players.
This maze should have run smoother than it did. I don't blame the hosts so much as I blame the players for not reading the info, for jumping ahead of other players - instead of helping them- , and for being plain rude. Maybe the hosts should have made it a ride event, rather than a maze. I don't know.
As far as having CL's test it? That would have been a well thought out plan, for sure. Then maybe someone would have noticed the teleporters were wrong on one of the mazes before players found out...heh.
Crybabies? On vmk? No way! LOL Yes, there are some jealous players on the game. I come across them every day. I don't let it bother me anymore. CL's get NOTHING extra for helping a Host. At least I never did.

Maybe that's what happening now. Earlier I saw VMK_Red, VMK_Eagle, and QA_caffdawg in rooms. I think that a few of the problems were being dealt with then. If there is room for more than one person to walk then they might not need a staff in each room to help move people along the maze.

First, please read my post again.... It says I think using CL_'s to TEST it, not HELP with it.....

If the Maze was TESTED before it was RELEASED they would have seen what a nightmare it was (in theroy) and made the changes they ended up making anyway, but BEFORE it was released to us.....

I also think they did everyone a diservice by ripping apart the maze until it was a joke... it really was a joke at the end... just had to walk thru...

Perhaps if they had TESTED it ahead of time, they would ahve had time to fix it and have it not be LAME...

Contact Us is different than the Help button. The Help button is something you can use in the game and the contact us is a feature you can use even when the game is closed as it is found on the home page rather than in the game. This is good to know, Renpener, as you are a community leader.
