My sister called, her BIL is getting married in San Diego on October 5th. Their plan is to go October 2nd, returning the 6th. The possible plan is that I would fly with them, but stay in Anaheim while they go to the wedding, then they would come back to Anaheim on Sunday to stay for 2 nights. I would Disneyland myself and with them on Monday.

Flights are a bit outrageous, $370 R/T from Cleveland. For me to do this, I would need a cheap hotel (under $100 a night) within walking distance to Disneyland. Cheap, clean, decent and I'm good.

Not sure of the cost during your time frame but I suggest the Candy Cane Inn.

Check the Howard Johnson on S. Harbor. Not sure of the exact cost, but it wasn't very expensive. Only 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel to the gate. We had the shuttle pass but only used it once because it was so close.

There are a lot of hotels across S. Harbor from DL.

Hi,

The last time i have been to Disneyland was in 2006, i have stayed in the Anaheim Plaza Hotel.
I loved the hotel, i was there on a solo trip so i just wanted something clean and cheap, nothing special.
It was a hit!!!

Ofcourse it has been a while since i have stayed there so i can't tell from recent experience but in august 2006 the lobby was just renovated and everything looked very nice and very very clean.
It's a 5-10 min walk to the maingate....

Here is the link to the hotel:

I checked the dates for your stay and it's $59 a night.

The Anaheim Plaza Hotel that Yvet mentioned is in a perfect location and can be had for a great price. We had a bad experience there one time and haven't returned. This was several years ago though.

The last couple of times I've gone done there I've stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites on Manchester. It's a little bit more of a walk, but is in your price range.

Me too! It was the first website I went to after I talked to my sister, I have always wanted to stay there, but they are $140 a night for the days I might go. :guilty:

Nothing fancy, but good location and really good price! Thanks so much Yvette, this might do the trick!

Howard Johnsons and Candy Cane Inn are your best bets, I believe.

Have a great time!

Try the Carousel Inn and Suites, Camelot, or the Tropicana. They are across the street from the Park - definately walking distance. Not much to them but they are close and cheap and clean.

We have stayed at Tropicana. We are staying at the Carousel next week. We have friends who have stayed at Camelot.

Good Luck.

About the HOJO, if you have an entertainment card, you will also get a discount. You can check their website discussion board for the dates the discount is available and get a room for $59.

There are several motels across the street from the entrance, the ones listed as well as the Best Western Park Place Inn, Desert Inn and Suites, Del Sol, and several others.

Try this link for a list of them all and their locations:

I'm actually staying at the Quality Inn at the end of the month with Disneym2m when she comes into town, so I will let you know. It's an extremely cute property for the money. I'm paying $60 a night with a AAA rate for 2 doubles. It was $20 more for 2 queens.

The HoJo is the most popular hotel on the DL Board, with good reason. They have a great relationship with the DISers from that board.

Good luck - and enjoy!

Also, the Quality Inn includes a continental breakfast (plus make-your-own waffles). Not as good as Candy Canes great continental breakfast, but it will get you by until you can get a churro in the park. :rotfl:

We were really happy with the Desert Palms Inn & Suites (the one just past the Candy Cane Inn) Not sure of the cost now, but it was under $80 last time we were there. Mind you that was a few years ago. We were also happy at the others we've stayed in but again they were a long time ago.
