My husband and I are married for almost 6 years and are thinking of renewing our vows when we are either married for 7,5 or 10 years. So in 2012 or 2014.

We know it would cost a lot, so we better start saving money sooner than later :D I was just looking at all different wedding packages. And to us the Escape wedding package seems most affordable.

But I have a couple of questions about it:
1. Do you get a discount on your hotel room when you get married at WDW. And if so, how much discount will it be and for how many nights?
2. Do get free annualpasses with the escape package? And are those valid from the moment you arrive in WDW or will you get them on your wedding day?
3. What is an officiant? And where do you get one? And how much would one of those cost?
4. Can I shop for dresses while I'm in Disneyworld? I'd love to wear a Kelly for Disney dress during the ceremony.

And I also have a question about wishes weddings. I saw that have a 25 room nights minimum, do those count for the minimum expenditure?

And am I the only one who finds the Disney weddings website too simple. I cant find all the information I am looking for, and the calculator some people speak of, isn't online anymore.

I would think a bit an change by the time you are ready to call Disney but I am sure you know that. No discount on your room because you are having a wedding but there often seems to be a discount to be had. We used a pin code that we received via email. Escape brides do get annual passes. Disney sent me a list of officiants but I had already kid of decided from on here. Ours was $300.

I didn't use the Disney website very much. I mostly used these boards.

Happy planning.

1. Do you get a discount on your hotel room when you get married at WDW. And if so, how much discount will it be and for how many nights?

As amyy said, no discount on the room, unless you set up a room block (where you guarantee that you and your guests will fill a certain number of room nights). Even then, the discounts available to the general public via PIN codes, promotions, travel agents, etc. are usually better.

2. Do get free annualpasses with the escape package? And are those valid from the moment you arrive in WDW or will you get them on your wedding day?

You get vouchers for the annual passes once you've paid your deposit. Then you can activate the vouchers whenever you want.

What is an officiant? And where do you get one? And how much would one of those cost?

An officiant is the person who performs the ceremony, like a minister or a notary public. Disney will provide you a list of their preferred officiants, or you can find your own. Usually you pay them about $250.

4. Can I shop for dresses while I'm in Disneyworld? I'd love to wear a Kelly for Disney dress during the ceremony.

None of the stores at Disney World carry wedding dresses, but there are plenty of malls and outlet stores in Orlando. The closest place to buy a Kirstie Kelley dress would be The Collection in Winter Park (407-740-6003). But check the KK website closer to when you visit because they may add stores...

And I also have a question about wishes weddings. I saw that have a 25 room nights minimum, do those count for the minimum expenditure?

No, the cost of the rooms does not count toward the overall minimum expenditure.

And am I the only one who finds the Disney weddings website too simple. I cant find all the information I am looking for, and the calculator some people speak of, isn't online anymore.

Disney did away with the wedding calculator, probably because it was so generic that it didn't give you any idea what you'd actually spend. The website is more of a glossy advertisement for Disney weddings than an actual planning tool, unfortunately. For one thing, their prices change so frequently it would be next to impossible for them to keep the site up to date if they did list specific prices. The best way to find out how much things cost is to read people's planning journals and BEOs to see what they paid for the things you want. :thumbsup2
