I'm sure it has been asked before but, what is the current policy on using SAB while we stay BWV?

I don't care if they say I can't go, I'll change clothes in the bathrooms at BC and jump on the slide. Been planning this trip for a whole year!!!

thanks...

No, no pool hopping at SAB. We have actually had reports of interlopers being shot.

SAB was removed as a pool-hopping option when they opened BCV. You are welcome to try but they do check ID's at the entrances to the pool.

well then, it's time for the Super Pool Sneak Streak! My white butt is going down that Ships' Slide!

I've been thrown out of better...

10 Days to Go til' splash down, Woo-Hoo!

Can resort guests bring guests to SAB?

I don't think there's a formal policy. IMO, all at the pool should be the ones staying in the room. Of course if you didn't have a full unit and wanted to have a couple of friends over for the day, it will likely be ok. I suspect it's handled on a case by case basis.

When we were at Beaches & Cream for lunch on 10/19, we observed ID's being checked and wristbands being given out to access SAB. They have also closed up most of the entrances to SAB. I'm not sure if this is due to the construction on the pool house area and whirlpool area or just the new way they control access. It was not too crowded that day either (only about 30-40 people in sight), so I don't think the check-in policy was due to heavy crowds.

I stayed at BCV's in Sept. and they are indeed not only checking
Resort I.D.'s but they also make you wear a wristband like at a regular water park. They had attendants at all entrances to the pool areas and I did see them telling people they couldn't get in that were trying to pool-hop (and yes, they were DVC members). It's a major bummer because it was our favorite place to pool-hop too. We were staying at BCV's that trip just to check it out and don't normally stay over there as OKW is our home resort. IMHO, they should let us pool-hop during the slower seasons - but then it probably wouldn't make too much difference anyway being that DVC busy seasons seem to fall during WDW's slow seasons. Oh well. Just thought I'd let y'all know what we experienced when we went.

Thank goodness this is being appropriately monitored and the influx of local pool crashers are being removed to allow paying guests use of the facilities. I'm glad to hear this is being monitored. As a DVC member, anyone is certainly welcome to stay in BCV and use SAB all you want. People seem to be reporting there's availability in the 7 month window. Even if it is slow, I'm glad to see BCV guests getting the benefit from those slow periods. I'd hate to be at the pool which is constantly filled to capacity. There's plenty of pools and alternatives to choose from for pool hoppers.

I'm concerned those deliberately and knowingly braking the pool hopping rules may end up causing pool hopping to be removed as an ongoing priviledge. I always thought it would be kind of nice to take a break from the Majic Kindom on a hot day to hit the Poly or Contemporary pools.

After all, BCV have no view, are way too close to a busy road, are a long walk from SAB, and the rooms a smaller. One advantage to offset those disadvantages is the use of SAB. Seems pretty reasonable.

Captain Dimlight, ah Midnight.....

Let's see if I got this straight. The big reason to limit SAB is because someone bought at a property that "has no view, are way to close to a busy road, are a long wlk from sab and the rooms a smaller". I lose access to something because someone else is dumb enough to buy a dump??? Sounds very democratic to me.

Could you please give me a 4 day Park Hop to make up for my stupid decision to purchase a single day pass???

Well, just as long as you're happy.

Give Me a Break!

Stating one is going to willingly and purposefully break the rules simply for their own enjoyement seems unreasonable to me. I agree that if many do this, pool hopping is at risk for the entire system though I suspect it's days are numbered anyway.

The reason for ending poolhopping to SAB was explicitly stated-the powers that be said that the added capacity of BCV would strain SAB's already popular capacity...thus no more room for poolhoppers. Many-myself included -have always suspected this was a half truth if not all out lie...the reason was just as Captain Midnight has backhandedly suggested-to make SAB a selling point for BCV over the similarly located/sized BWV available at less cost thru resales. There was nothing else of amajor nature like location/theme/roomsize, views etc... to make it stand out.

So far the reports I have heard do not confirm any capacity strains whatsoever having been created at SAB by the addition of BCV...(though the bus problems are another story-but that was never going to get any attention as it was not a selling point) It is possible that in the future when crowd levels and the economy improve that the supposed crowding at SAB may occur---it is also clear that given the sell job they did on this issue they will never reverse themselves on it-though I suspect strict enforcement will die out.

Happyplace, such an angry post from a poster with only 5 posts. Usually it takes months and many more posts to build up such anger. If you really want to use the pool, why not use your' points there or buy there. That's what we did when they changed the rule. I know what a concept. I agree completely with Captain Midnight.
Noone is going to try to convince you not to break the new poolhopping rule. It seems certain rules don't apply or matter to you. There must have been a reason for DVC to implement the rule. I hope you do hop, and then you should make a fuss when they kick you out. Tell them how you've been saving all year for this. How dare they.
Later, you can complain when poolhopping is eliminated altogether, and wonder why. Yeah,I know it won't matter to you, you'll still do it. Enjoy your' trip, oh and a little hint. The changing room/bathroom is outside of where you would need to pass the CM's to get to the slide or pool, so need to come up with a sneakier plan than that to fool them. Good luck again on your' mission, and have a happy trip.:smooth:

Angry, just 5 post??? Do these things have a common thread? Some connection? If I had posted a hundred times, maybe I'd just spout pixiedust pabulum???

Looks like I shot someones favorite dog or something. If you "all knowings" know that there is strict "dog tagging" of all pool guests, then you should feel safe in knowing I won't be fouling the much beloved waters of SAB.

People, get a grip. If rule breakings meant that Disney would take drastic measures of retaliation then, why allow Park Hopping??? I'm sure more than a few get past the ticket system but, hopping parks isn't about to be disallowed.

It's Disneys' park, they'll run it as they d*** well see fit. Quit acting and sounding like a bunch of scared school children. "Can't have anyone out of line" "You there!! Back in formation" "If we break any rules, Disney will take away something" "Bailif, Whack his pee-pee".

I didn't say I was going to get drunk and naked in the hot tub at BWV (been done and posted about on this Hallowed Board, now why didn't that post bring out the morality police?), nor did I plot to obtain carnal knowledge of Goofy or Flash the Space Mountain Cameras.

Are you all just as serious about your neighborhood crime watch? I doubt it...

I promise, pledge and swear to my death to follow all disney rules, regs and mindless dogma set forth by the Offical Disney Park Police of this board. I'm really a nice guy. Though, I do occasionally run with sissors.

It's a vacation. Remember, to goal is to relax and have fun.

Man, Happyplace, did you get some bad candy on Halloween night? Sheesh. Chill a bit.

Our DIS Posting Guidelines clearly state the rules of our boards. This thread quite clearly breaks them. Discussion on this topic is over.
