Maybe a silly questions

We're first time "disney-ers" going in June. Not using the dining plan. My questions:

At counter service places...can anyone order a child's meal? Do they check?

How about table service places?

We have a 12 year old...and a 9 (turning 10 next week) year old. Neither are really huge eaters.

Also...do you just charge everything at restaurants/counters to your "account"...and pay up at the end of the trip? What if you are using a MYW Package...and are fully paid for your room, etc before you arrive? (Well...I suppose you have to settle up any room charges (extras), right?)

Anyone can purchase a child's meal at a CS place. I'm not sure about TS restaurants.

You can either pay by cash, credit card, or you can have your room key activated to accept charges (for food, souveniers, etc.) and then you pay at the end with your credit card or cash.

When you check in they will un your credit card and set a dollar limit that you may charge to your room. It varies starting from $500 at the values based on where you are staying and other factors. Whe you reach your limit or on checkout (whichever comes firt), the charge will then be applied to your credit card in one transaction. If you are still in, they will then reauthorize for an additional $500 (or whatever).

Note that any time you want they will print out a currrent bill for your account which shows all transaction. Also, the items are identified by which card had the charge.

As far as children's meals, anyone can order from the children's menu. The only exception is that people ten and older are charged adult price at any buffet or other all-you-can-eat location.*

*At some locations, at the server's discrection, a person who eats very little at a buffet may get charged only the children's price, but don't count on it.
