Does anyone have any thoughts on the Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs. Don't see too much about it in the threads. We are staying there for this December and wonder how the food is. Thanks

We have stayed at CSR several times, but just tried Maya Grill for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. I thought the buffet was quite good. They had a very tasty breakfast burrito, and they had actual hash browns(the shredded kind) in addition to "breakfast potatoes" which so many buffets seem to feature(they are the cubed potatoes usually mixed with onion and green pepper).
They had all the other stuff you would expect too, including real coffee--sometimes hard to find on property. DW had a less satisfactory time as the waffles and French toast were cold and kind of ...stiff. I guess most people drench them in the warmed syrup, but DW uses only butter and when she spread it on the waffles, it just kind of clumped up.

I would try it again, but would probably bring DW a Danish back to the room. :earsboy:

I think Mister Disney did a dinner review about a month ago??
I can vouch for the breakfast buffet--with my "best bacon at WDW " award!!
As for dinner--the menu looks pretty good, but we haven't had dinner there since they became a more "steakhouse" type of place.

We had dinner on our last visit when we stayed at CSR. We were not thrilled with this resturant.I had a chicken entree and my DH ate a steak...can't remember what the DDs ate. The food was so-so and if I remember, it was somewhat pricey. I would stay at CSR again but probably would not eat at the Maya Grill again.

The Maya Grill is a good restaurant. The Breakfast buffet is very good and they have a new lunch buffet.

The Maya Grill Lunch Buffet will run between the hours of noon - 2:00pm. It will include a seasonal fruit bar (to include: canteloupe, honeydew, strawberries, watermelon, whole oranges, whole apples and bananas), salads (to included mixed greens with choice of 4 dressings, tossed caesar, grilled marinated vegetables, antipasto, oriental vegetables w/ ginger peanut dressing, marinated cucumbers), a Hot Station (to include Jambalaya, penne pasta tossed w/ porcini sauce, chicken pot pie, baked mahi veracruz, sauteed vegetable medley, garlic mashed potatoes, red beans and sausage), a dessert station (to included a selection of desserts from CSR's in house bakery), and assorted breads and rolls. The cost is $17.95++ per person. 18% gratuity will be added to parties of 8 or more. Buffet times subject to change.

The dinners are good as well.

Doesn't sound like it is getting rave reviews. Guess I'll stick with Kona Cafe (which we loved!!) Thanks for your posts.
