I'm staying at Coronado Springs in December and have been wondering if Maya Grill is worth having supper at? I'm reading alot of bad reviews - not alot of good ones.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

We stay at CSR a lot and have eaten at the Maya Grill a few times. We liked it. You won't need an ADR so you can go if your plans allow. We eat at the Pepper Market more often(it's now a true food court like the other mods)- and we've tried the other table service restaurant (Las Ventanas) a few times and that was very nice. I would say check the menus, see if it appeals to you, and try it if your plans allow. We've always had good food at all of the CSR dining locations.

My DH and I were really surprised by how much we enjoyed Maya Grill. It's not someplace that gets a lot of reviews. We wanted a relaxing night at the resort evening so we gave it a try and were so glad we did. We have never seen it busy at all, even during the busiest times of the year.

We found the food to be a bit bland. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't go back. The atmosphere is really nice, though. The food from Pepper Market was better.

We really enjoyed Maya Grill when we stayed at Coronado Spring resort. I had the Jalapeno margarita and it was delish! We were on the dining plan and I ordered the New York Strip and it was really good. We were not dissapointed at all. It has a nice atmosphere too! We ate dinner there on our arrival day and it was a bit chilly outside so we were happy to stay at the resort and have a nice dinner...
Probably would not go out of my way to eat there, but if I was staying at the resort I definitely would. We all enjoyed our meal.

I've only been once when we stayed at CSR but we really liked it. The food is good and the atmosphere is lovely. On the night we were there, they had live music that was very nice, not loud or intrusive but a nice background for dinner.

It's been a few years since I ate there. If you don't go in with high expectations, you won't be disappointed. That's not high praise. The food wasn't bad, just not memorable. If you are staying at that resort, not a bad choice. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat there. Maybe its improved since I ate there, although recent reviews would go against that idea.

Thank you both. This is really helpful. I think we will stick with the reservation. It's going to be a long travel day so it will be nice to have a good meal at the resort!
We did it on arrival day a few years ago. It was also my parents anniversary. It has become my dads favorite restaurant in all of Disney. He's still talking about it. We all loved it.

When my son still worked for Disney, we would take him there for dinner at least once or twice every trip we were in town. Nice appetizers, nice adult beverages, very good entrees, good desserts. Plus the strolling guitarist was a nice touch.

DH & I also enjoyed it on our arrival day in August. Not especially memorable but tasty, and I remember having a hard time deciding what to order!

DD15 and I enjoyed our dinner there when we stayed at CS. The steak was delicious, as were the fish tacos. The guitarist made it feel "fancier" lol. We also want to give honorable mention to the other restaraunt at CS. The food was good and the servers were amazingly nice!
