Looking to go to these two places to eat in Feb. Has anyone been to these two recently? And if so what are your opinions?
Anything will help.

Thanks!

Never been to Maya Grill, but we love Olivia's. Whenever we stay at OKW we will eat there multiple times per trip. It has good food and is very convenient.

We were thinking of going to Maya Grill but it just keeps getting bad reviews. Poor service and long waits seem to be the biggest complaint.

We went to Olivia's on our most recent trip (Oct '08) and the Maya Grill on one of our previous trips (either May '07 or August '07 - can't remember but definitely one of those). So while the Maya Grill visit wasn't as recent, of the two we definitely preferred Olivia's. MG was just okay, but we plan on repeat visits to Olivia's!

We ate at Olivia's first of December. The food was really good, the service was terrible. However, I have to say, that was just our server, as all the other servers around us were lovely and attentive to their tables and we were very jealous we didn't have them. So, I would guess in most cases, it would be an excellent place to eat! :)

Thanks for the help. We enjoy trying different places to eat. And it gives us a chance to visit other resorts. I just don't hear too much on these two places.

Olivia's is great. We stay at OKW alot, so we eat at Olivia's once or twice each trip. The food and service is always good.

I ate at the Maya Grill back when it first opened, and it was really good. But based in the reviews it seems to have gone way downhill since then.

I've read some really good reviews of Maya Grill lately--at least for the food. They have said that the service is very slow, however. We stay at the CSR every trip but we've only done the buffet for breakfast. It is your typical buffet and, truthfully, we found more offered at the character buffets.

As a local, we are at the various restaurants pretty often. So, we were at Olivia's on December 30th. I had the Grouper which was perfect and DW & DD split an order of Penne Rigate, which they also enjoyed, Of course we had 2 loaves of that FAB bread. Go...Enjoy!

We ate at Maya Grill last month and had a very good meal. DH and I both had steak, one of our DDs had ribs, don't remember what the others had. Food was very good, service was a little slow but it was a nice, leisurely meal. If you're in a hurry to get back to the parks, you may want to skip it, but we visited on a non-park day and had a great time.

No, this won't be a "hurry up & eat" dinner. I'm glad to hear maybe Maya grill won't be a total bust. Another choice might be Captains grille at the Beach & Yacht club as well.

Here's what were thinking:

1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Tony's (lunch)
50's PTC (lunch)
'Ohana's (dinner)
Maya Grill (dinner)
Olivias (dinner)
Whispering Canyon cafe (dinner)

We did Coral reef, le cellier & sci fi in Nov. We want to try different places this trip. We did go to 'Ohanas & Tony's last trip, but the husband liked them so much he requested them again.

Any opinions are welcome!

Peronsally, we were very disappointed in WCC--found it overrated and DH got sick on something in the skillet. We've read great reviews of Spoodles and Jiko (Jiko is two credits if on the dining plan) and we are trying them both in September. We too want to try some new places. I'm trying to squeeze Ohanas in for dinner...but haven't been able to so far.

We ate at Maya Grill in September and loved it - we will be staying at CSR next trip and were pleased when we visited that we could count on a dinner at our home resort!

Have breakfast at Olivia's, it is just incredible!

we went to olivias a few weeks ago and it was GREAT! the service was good and the good was really good...I got the pot roast and my dh got the steak. It was not alot of people there so it made for a very relaxing meal.

We went to Maya Grill over Thanksgiving and I would not go back. The food was O.k. but my dh food was cold. And talk about slow. I usually don't mind a wait but this was just ridiculous. It wasn't even a busy night. We walked up with no reservation and were seated right away. We loved CSR and will definitley stay there again, but we will not visit Maya Grill again.

We love Olivia's, eat there at least once every trip while we're at OKW. My 3 dds enjoy it also. The pineapple coconut bread is awesome as is the apple pie for dessert. MIL and aunt really enjoyed the pasta last time, you can get it with shrimp, chicken or vegetarian.
