Okay, so this trip will be my first on the DDP and my DBF is strictly a meat and potatoes kind of guy. Fortunately, Disney does not lack in the steakhouse dept. :goodvibes I've made my ADR's already and I'm just inpatiently waiting for our MAGICAL trip to begin! :woohoo:
Anyway, I've made an ADR for the Maya Grill, but I haven't read many good things about the place. :confused3 My man loves beef tips and so far, they're the only place I've seen that has them on their menu. Has anyone eaten there for dinner and would you recommend it?

Maya Grill is excellent. Not only is the food good but the atmosphere is very nice as well.

We loved it. Can't remember what we had, but know it was great. The entire meal took about 2 hours, not in a bad way, though. Very relaxed, no rush between courses. We went there as a last minute change & found it to be one of our best meals.

We love the Maya Grill, especially the breakfast buffet. The restaurant never seems crowded and the atmosphere is great. It's also a great spot for a romantic, late night dinner with a view of the lake with the building lights reflecting off the water.

We had a wonderful meal at Maya Grill last month. I was wary based on reviews here on the dis and the UG (don't know why since I hardly ever aggree with any of their dining assesments) but since we were staying at CSR before our cruise, didn't have a car or park tickets, and wanted something easy after a long day of Blizzard Beach for us and Kennedy Space Center for my inlaws, Maya Grill seemed the best bet. I went in with NO expectations and we were all exhausted and not even that into it. We thought it was wonderful and ended up having a wonderful evening. Three of us had and enjoyed the ribeye, my cousin-in-law had the duck and said it was very good, my son had salmon (it was very good, I tasted it) and my daughter had the fried cheese on the kids menu which was a huge portion. We also had some appetizers including a chalupa (wonderful) and some fried plantains that were also tasty Some of the best service we have had and it was nice and quiet and low key. I would eat here again in a minute.

I've only had the breakfast buffet there and thought it was quite good. Strangely, this is one of the least discussed WDW Restaurants on these boards.:earsboy:

Eat there twice and it was great both times.

Love CSR and love this restaurant. Eaten there twice and enjoyed the lamb and couscous dish both times. Very quiet, relaxing setting and equally nice to enjoy a romantic stroll around the lake afterwards :goodvibes

We ate there in Aug and really enjoyed it. I was suprised that we had never ate there before.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not you need an ADR at this restaurant? One night we will just be hanging around the hotel (CSR) and we may want to eat here but we may just want to eat at the Pepper Market depending on how tired we are. I would hate to make an ADR and be a no-show. Does this restaurant get very crowded?

We ate here last week both dh and I liked it here. I had the ribs. They were good! Couldn't eat them all. DH had the beef tenderloin tips. He liked those as well. We ate at 5pm due to DS3. They weren't busy at that time but as they opened there were people waiting but no reservation. The people waiting had to wait to see if there was availablity before they were seated. I'm not sure if anyone was turned away. I would just make reservations and if you can't make it just call or stop by and cancel since it is right next to Pepper Market.

Thank you all so much for your comments! Well, looks like I'll be keeping the ADR for the Maya Grill. Can't hurt to try, right? :teeth:
Princessjasmine08, I can't really say if you need to make ADR's or not, but the CM I spoke with over the phone to make all my dining reservations recommended it. Hey, push comes to shove and you decide not to go, you can always cancel. :) My beau and I won't be staying at CSR, but we like checking out other resorts to decide for our future trips. :thumbsup2 We're trying to experience value, moderate and deluxe resorts to find which suits us best. :cool1:
