May Weight Loss Challenge - Getting Ready for Summer!

Sorry to say I have basically lost nothing this month. But, I am happy to say I have gained nothing also. I keep chasing the same pound or two for the past few weeks. I want to hit my goal for our Oct. '09 WDW trip and am determined to step up my efforts. Summer is usually a great motivation for me....wearing shorts and tank tops, fresh veggies, gardening ...etc.

One thing I did accomplish this month was to incorporate a 3 x 100 exercise into my life. 5 days a week I have been doing 100 squats, 100 situps and 100 pushups. But, I am sorry to say, I have slacked off on my cardio (DVD) workouts.

DH needs to lose 10lbs. or so and I told him we will start grilling more lean meats and veggies. He works second shift, while I work days. I should be utilizing my evenings better with extra workouts....which is one of my goals. On the weekends we have been very busy with graduations and campouts, which don't help in my healthy eating efforts. We also love our wine and margaritas, which can really sabotage a great diet plan.

So my goals for June are:
1. Lose at least 3 lbs. (I hope to lose 6 lbs. by Oct 2nd)
2. Continue my 3X100, but add the cardio in 3 days a weeks.
3. Cut back on my weekend snacking, especially the wine and cheese.
4. Cut back on carbs and replace with more fruit and veggies and lean
protein.

Focus on your summer plans and why you want to lose weight; put a picture of your holiday destination on the fridge; plan breaks in the summer as a reward for reaching your goal. Remember a trim and shapely you will want to get out and about and enjoy yourself rather than trying to hide away.:banana:
