We were at WDW a few years ago in May and it was also in the mid 80's but the humidity was much lower than when we went in July. That made it feel much cooler. We're from SE MO and it's really humid here too in the summer but you just never get used to it. That's our main reason for going in May again.
We are currently experiencing a drought. While I pray that we will have every afternoon rain, it may not happen this year. The outlook isn't good. We are already having brush fires in the area. Yesterday, 50 homes were threatened by a brush fire. Pray for that rain!
We have gone in May twice, and found it pretty hot (although, we are from the milder NE area!) It was upper 80's and into the 90's most of the days were were there, and cooled into the upper 70's once the sun went down. We also saw very little rain both trips. That being said, we are heading back this May! Woo-hoo!
I can tell you from being there first hand last May 14-24th, it was HOT!!!! It barely rained, never bought a poncho!! It was also quite humid, so prepare yourself!!!

I was worried that it still might be cooler! It can be cold here in May. I remember some May 2-4 weekends wearing winter coats to watch the fireworks! The warm weather will be great!
