We took a vacation to WDW last Feb... with our kids and loved it so much we really wanted to do another Disney vacation this year. We are looking at going to DL in May. (the 8-18) Is this a busy time? I also wanted to know if anyone has stayed at the Candycane Inn and what is it like? We stayed on Disney at Dixie Landings last year and loved it but looks like the resorts are a lot more expensive in DL then WDW. Was also wondering if anyone knows about Legoland and the San Diego Zoo and how far away they are and if they are worth going to or not... Thanks... (I know I have a lot of questions)

Weekdays in May are fine enough but the week ends are really busy. The Candy Cane Inn Is a very nice motel. It has a bit of a theme with nice decore and a great breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and it is close enough to walk.

The Candy Cane Inn is definately one of the best off-site hotels. Their continental breakfast is the best I've seen. As for San Diego Zoo and Legoland, the zoo is about an hour and a half away (depending on traffic) and Legoland is about a hour away. I personally was not that impressed with the zoo when we went, it is not worth the money. Luckily we got in free because a relative works there, but I will not go back. Legoland is great if your into legos,we enjoyed it but again it's not something I would do again. Much rather spend more time at Disneyland or at Universal Studios. But that is just my opinion.
