If we want to go in May when should be safe to get past the Spring Breakers. Since living in Florida we don't want to go during a busy time if we don't have to.

Thanks for any input.

We went during Mothers Day weekend last year and it was fairly crowded.
The flowers are beautiful though at Epcot.

Right now it looks like the first 2 weeks of May will be busier. That's what I'm hoping anyway. We are going the 23rd-30th!!:cool1: :cool1:

It would also be nice to take advantage of the Florida resident room rates thru May 31st!

I don't know about the rest of the country, but by May spring break is LONG gone. That being said, we do have a trip planned for late May, so we're praying for light[er] crowds.

Ours is only one of many school systems in the south, but our last day of school is a half day on May 22.

We have scheduled our trip May 15th-22nd- thinking that it is after Spring break but before school gets out down South.

That's one of the factors we considered when planning our May 11th-18th Disney trip. We wanted to go after Spring break, and before alot of the southern schools let out. You also have to consider alot of Florida schools hold their school picnics at Disney and those seem to be in later May closer to their school letting out. We've gone in early May before and the crowds weren't bad.

Great minds think alike! :) We'll be at WDW from May 16 - 19. Had to take DS out of school for two days to do it, when I could have waited one more week and school would have been out. But I think the crowds will go up sharply in that one week. He's in 2nd grade and they don't do much during the last week of school anyway. I figured that fewer families with older kids would be there around that time because of final exams.

We'll be there from the 11th through the 23rd. May is always the best time to go

I disagree. Spring break should be over by beginning-mid April way before May. Most colleges end their semester in the beginning of May and about 80% of regular schools have spring break over Easter into the beginning of April. That being said, I am sure all of May is fine.

I did a lot of research, and picked early May (actually April 30-May 7) because Spring Break will be long over. Plus with Easter early this year, that won't be a concern. I also wanted to get there before the summer heat was in full force. I was worried that by late May, the humidity would really start to kick in.

We always go the week before Memorial day. We used to leave on sunday, but were realizing how crowded the weekend before the holiday got, we moved it up to saturday fly in and sat fly out (the 17 to the 24). Last year other than the last two days of our trip it was not that busy.

We went the 1st/2nd week in May two years ago and it was perfect. Crowds were moderate, weather was great and the flower festival was beautiful. We're going back May 9-17 so hopefully we will have the same results. We were also there Mother's Day weekend and I did not notice any difference in crowd level from the rest of our trip.

Yea I am excited now. We are going to go with another couple and their two kids who have never been. I think I will help so much with us having a 2 year old to have some others there so that we can switch off for rides or go over to the parks in shifts and such.

On another thread there is a poll as to when in May everyone was going. The first two weeks were more popular & someone posted "Why is everyone going when I'll be there". I'm sure all of us going in May will have a great time no matter what week!! I'm just thrilled to be going in May at all. I didn't think we would be going this year but I really feel I need to put my rebate check back into the economy:thumbsup2

SOOOOO True! We were not going to go anywhere at all this summer, but thanks to the rebate checks, well gotta do it "I don't really want to go, but for the sake of the economy, it would be unamerican to go" :rotfl:

BTW May 9-16 also!
