May Trip- Plans with Extra Club Level Fast Passes

Thank you! I think my son would be a bit too scared on Space Mountain. He was only two years old on our last trip to Disney, so he's never been on 7DMT, Splash or BTM. I think those rides may be enough adventure. Good to hear that FOP wasn't too scary. I didn't know if he would enjoy that one, and I wasn't sure if the googles would fit his face. I really appreciate your reply. Very helpful! :earsboy:

Since you have dinner at Chef Mickey's I'd consider eating at Garden Grill, Cape May Cafe or Coral Reef on your Epcot day instead of a second meal at Chef Mickey's.

That's a good point. I'll try to see if there are any ADR's left for Cape May or Garden Grill. My cousin is in the College Program and working at The Electric Umbrella. We were thinking of stopping by there to grab some food, but I don't think I can get an ADR for that place.

Motion sickness isn't the concern. Back/neck pain is.

Also, EMM is a LOT of food. I would cancel the Tony's ADR and plan on a light QS lunch or snacking until your BOG ADR. Tony's is terrible anyway.

Ha!! I didn't realize that Tony's was terrible. I was trying to schedule so many ADR's because we have the Deluxe Dining Plan, and I'm finding it very difficult to use all of my credits. Since my mom will be with us, I don't think she would like Space at all if back/neck pain is a possibility.

With both CL and the Deluxe Dining Plan, you are going to be overloaded with food. ;)

And while I normally don't comment on dining selections...I agree, maybe skip Tony's. Or if you keep it, pack some Tums.

Okay-- you guys definitely have me convinced to drop Tony's - lol!! :rotfl:Would they let me switch to the other dining plan if I drop some of the ADRs? I'm not sure if I am committed to the Deluxe at this point.

Don't think you will need a fp for Under the Sea at 9:30 in the morning, it's not that popular

Thank you! I know we will want to ride it, but I definitely don't want to waste a FP since I am paying for 3 extra ones. Would the Speedway be a better option?

You can downgrade to the regular plan, but you need to do it sooner rather than later. At some point, they will charge a "change" fee.

I am taking your plans and working off of them. If I had to pick from plans that I’ve seen thus far, this would be as close to Perfect as you could get for us on the rides. Nice work.

IMHO, yes, that Speedway line is always long for my tastes... and it can be hot/noisy/smelly. FP it if you can.

That question is probably better posted on the Dining Plan board as there are more folks there that know the ins/outs of the dining plan. While some people do it and use it successfully, when we stay CL we don’t even consider the dining plan as it’s way overload for our particular touring style. But the dining plan/CL mix is obviously very subjective, different folks have different priorities.

That actually touches on one of my observations of your plan. You don’t seem to have much in there in terms of breakfast in the lounge or taking advantage of other food offerings, watching fireworks from the lounge, etc. I suspect that was your intent and maybe not one of your motivations for booking CL, just an observation.

Also, I would not fp Figment? in Epcot. I don't remember it ever getting a wait and TBH, it's really a bad ride. If you can use your extra fp, I would go on Soarin or TT twice (don't know if they allow that). IMO, I would change to the regular ddp. You aren't going to be in the parks that many days and going to 2-3 sit down dinners is really time consuming. We always do one sit down dinner and get a few counter service meals that we share, it it's enough food and we are not small eaters. You can even go without the ddp and pay out of pocket and just keep whatever sit down dinners you have, even if you cancel the ddp, they will not automatically cancel your adr's. For most people, the ddp is not worth it financially. We always pay out of pocket and come out ahead.

I agree. If you pay all that extra $$$ for club level, you should use what they offer. If you are going to be at the parks, morning til night and have dining reserved all day, most likely you won't be using the food offerings at CL. I considered doing CL this trip but we are a family of 5 and spend a lot of time at the resort and would be at the lounge a lot.

100%. You want to spend as little time as possible anywhere near Speedway. The fumes are horrible. :crazy2:

Definitely seconding trading the Chef Mickey's on your Epcot day to Garden Grill. Absolutely no reason to eat there twice- the food isn't that good. Only reason to go is for the characters. You could stop by Electric Umbrella at any time. It's a quick service, you could just get a snack if you aren't hungry.

In regards to switching out Tony's, which resort are you staying at? You could have a nice lunch at your resort during your planned break that day! But only if you don't go big at the EMM buffet. :)

Thank you!!! :earsboy: I worked hard on it, and I had to consider what my kids would ride and what we would all enjoy doing together. I’m so glad that my plans helped you!!

We did CL in 2015, and the food was awesome!! With the ADRs, I was trying to think of fun experiences and characters- kind of serving that purpose along with having the food to eat. The dining plan under the deluxe almost isn’t enough table service. I also wanted to kind of know what I was spending before the trip, so the only “extras” were souvenirs. I appreciate your feedback, and I’m going to check out the dining board too.

Cool! BTW, any comments I’ve made aside, I agree with the PP who said it sounds like a really fun few days. You’re covering all the fun rides and eating spots. Can’t ask for much more than that. :-)

Thank you! I ditched the Chef Mickey’s for Garden Grill, and that breakfast actually looks amazing! I went with a 10:00 reservation to make for a more laid back morning.

That’s a good point re: Tony’s; we are staying at the Contemporary, so we could eat at The Wave or enjoy the snacks at the CL Lounge. My kids are small, but they always seem hungry.

With the fumes being that bad, we may want to skip the Speedway.

Thank you so much for your response! :earboy2:

Thank you for your response!! I actually thought you had to have the Dining Plan to book in advance. I did notice that I can switch my regular fast passes to any ride. I wasn’t sure about Figment, but we didn’t have too many options left. I went with the extra FPs for this day, so I could do all three Tier 1 rides- which are probably the only rides that we need the Fast Passes for.

I’m going to call to see my options for the dining plan.

I've never been to The Wave, but it's constantly getting rave reviews here. And yeah, the fumes are really bad. The CMs even get hazard pay. And sometimes, if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction, the fumes go into the Mad Tea Party queue. :(
