May the Fourth 2020--Now 2022: What to Expect?

If the stars align, I might make a "last minute" trip to Batuu for May the Fourth with a friend who is a huge SW fan. I know they had special merch last year, and a DAH evening at DHS. Should we expect the same this year? What's it like on that day at DHS? Any info and experience helpful, and maybe this can be the thread for sharing info as the day approaches in a scant 14 weeks.

They’ll probably have a few shirts, maybe a pin, maybe a few special food items outside BSO. I wouldn’t expect it to be recognized at all in BSO- there is no Star Wars in BSO, you are in Star Wars instead.

LOL found my own zombie thread. As the Jan 2020 date stamp suggests, the stars most definitely did NOT align for that trip. We are trying again this year, and I'm hoping we can all share rumors and experiences and planning, like what time to show up at DHS.

They haven’t generally done anything all too special the last few (normal) times. Maybe a few extra bits of merch, an extra photo op character, but they haven’t stayed open any later or done any special shows or fireworks. The Lego store at DS used to have more of a fanfare new merch offering than DHS on May the 4th. Could get lucky and this year will be different due to the Starcrusier, but they have their own private nighttime show to attend.

I went in '21. I mean it's a day there that's "extra" Star Wars so it's fun to see everyone excited but they (Disney) didn't really have anything special compared to previous years.

Wait--there may have been some special merchandise, but you had to scan to get in a virtual line to go inside shopping & they had no time frame when you would be called if any so it was a little chaotic for that. Although after having seen the 50th day of shopping crazies & now the Figment popcorn bucket insanity it wasn't on those levels

Starting to fear that MTFBWY will be like a condensed, niche version of the 50th MK celebration in October. I woke up at 5am to be ready and got nothing for the 3rd or 4th for Oga's. Yeah, I'm on reservation finder, yeah, we're only a party of two, upping our odds, but I will be stressing this for the next 60 days, until and unless we get a reservation.
All the DHS TS restaurants are full, too. Makes me feel like I should have created a fake April 24 reservation so I could make reservations 60+10 days out.

We are going to be there that day as well! My traveling party wanted to be at Hollywood Studios specifically for May the 4th. Hoping that isn't a mistake We are staying off-site so I haven't had a chance to even check for TS reservations. Hoping tomorrow morning to get a time slot for building three lightsabers.
