So disney hasn't announced a Star Wars event for May 4th yet, however the park hours for that date has EMH from 10pm till midnight on a Monday.

Do you think this is a pretty good indication that disney will be holding some kind of event for it?

I will be at WDW in this day so hoping they do!

At the very least, there will be a large number of SW characters out roaming and meeting/greeting.

The SW Character meals at SciFi (breakfast) and H&V (dinner) begin on May 4th.

JTA will be running at full speed. Double groups, more sessions, and possibly with Ventress and Ahsoka in the show.

Do you think symphony in the stars (or something similar) will show?

With the regular park hours until 10:00, there could possibly be fireworks at 9:45. For planning purposes, plan on the 2nd Fantasmic so you can be in place for the fireworks and then immediately go to Fant.

do you really think extra star wars characters will be out? or any special show for fantasmic in the evening? i know there was big event in 2013. did they do anything in 2014? thank you! we are going on this day and hoping family is not disappointed if just normal star wars things. can't get reservations for meals.

The characters were out in 2014, too. They are scattered throughout the Backlot area either roaming or having meet and greets. They didn't do the fireworks last year on the 4th, but, this year the park is already open later.

i really appreciate your tips. even to see some extra storm troopers roaming around would be great:) due to schedules we couldn't book on a star wars weekend. there's always 2016 and on:) thanks again! appreciated it!

maybe we'll get lucky and star wars characters will be inside the art of animation building:) we'll make sure to check the backlot and thanks to whomever started this thread! may the force be with you!

We were at DHS all day on May 4, 2014 (unintentionally; I had planned my itinerary before I'd ever heard of "May the Fourth be with You"). I only saw one roaming Star Wars character, which was Darth Vader. I do not believe JTA was running double. It was the usual daily schedule on one stage. (My DS participated, so I feel pretty confident I know what I am talking about). They had some kind of limited edition t-shirt sale going on, which did not interest us, but I know that brought some people to the park that day and I saw some people walking around with their newly purchased t-shirts. We had a ressie for the character dinner at H&V, which was pretty cool.

The SWW face characters - Luke, Leia etc. were out in the park on the 4th. JTA runs double once Maul and others get worked into the rotation and then it drops to one group during the lunch coverage periods.

There is still more going on as it's used as a run through for SWW.

appreciate all your info and tips! you know it's disney...you can't go wrong. we didn't do the JTA last time, so at least we'll give it a shot this time and see if our 7 and 4 year old will participate. sounds like you have to sign up early in the morning? i've only been to HS in 2013 (it was our 3rd full day and we were exhausted) and when MGM opened in the 80s. we'll enjoy it much more this time!

also going to "that other park" for the first time too in early May:) i should start a new thread on that! 2 days at universal.

Here's the usual info for JTA... disregard the EMH morning info but be aware of the timing to get to the gates:

JTA

If you are staying at an onsite resort, plan on going to DHS on an EMH morning and as soon as the gates open, head directly to JTA sign-ups with your child. Signing up during EMH is a hidden perk for onsite resort guests!

If you aren't staying onsite, go on a non-EMH morning and get to the gates at least 45 minutes before park opening.

Sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Sound Studio building. The CM will ask your child some questions and will assign him a session which fits into your FP and Dining schedule. Your child will need to report back approximately 30 minutes before his session.

Try to sign up for a morning session. Because of the weather, JTA is often canceled in the afternoons. If the session does get canceled, a brief meet and greet with Vader and Stormtroopers will take place.

20-minute shows and the first one is at 9:20.
