Has anyone been at this time of year - next year the holidays are the last week in May and I was considering going this week and the week before. How are the prices, the weather and the crowds?

Probably won't be able to afford to stay on site - so looking for a bargain deal. I have ordered a brochure from Travel City Direct but I know lots of you swear by booking flights and accommodation separately, but I am not sure where to start. I know that there are good accommodation only deals on this site and also Mousesavers? but where do you get your flights from?

I have always booked direct with Virgin.

Weve just done exactly this, and to be honest I cant ever see us doing anything else!!!!.
The weather was great, very hot and only one humid day, the crowds, werent too bad, 10 min max wait for most rides, the only time the parks did get really busy was memorial weekend(from fri-monday), last week may, so if you could plan anything non park or non disney, this is a good time to do it(we did things like orlando science center, boggy creaks etc).

I always book my holiday independantly, the best bet is pick up the phone and get prices on flydrives first(I always nail this down first, as i find it helps to give a definate date if youre trying to book accomadation), I presume as youre going in holiday time you have children, i think a 2 week flydrive ,with insurances, you will proably for 2 adults and 2 children(under 12),looking at £1,700 as a guide price(dont quote me!),it can be done cheaper, but depends on who you want to fly with, and whether you want to go direct.(we always fly virgin).

Were off again May next year to Las vegas and the grand canyon, as weve decided this is a great time of year to go,in terms of heat and no rain!!.

Our last visit was May & June 2001 & had great weather we didn't think the crowds were 2 bad either.

we're lucky our junior schools ( so that includes me ) gets 2 weeks ' hols at Spring bank & we normally take our family hols then.

This year we're only going in August because eldest DS did his GCSE 's.

I'd say go for it, its cheaper too.
