May Reservations - Need Your Help!

I currently have reservations at the Tropicana for May 6th-8th, but am contemplating whether or not to keep these dates. Last night, I read about the POTC premiere being held on the 7th; in addition to the shortened park hours and was wondering if it would be better if I postponed our trip for the following weekend. I can get almost the same rate at the Park Vue Inn for May 13th-15th, but I’m not sure if the crowds would be heavier at this time. Also, I’ve never stayed at the Park Vue so I’m not sure what to expect.

I’d love any and all advice regarding crowd levels for both weekends and feedback on the Park Vue hotel. As a side note, our party consists of 2 adults and 1 child (a toddler). The convenience of having breakfast available to us is helpful. (I’ve stayed at Tropicana, so I know what they’re “breakfast” consists of )

I would switch dates. That way, you won't have to deal with DL closing at 5 PM, you wouldn't be there for Bats Days (though to me, being there would be a perk, but I'm a little odd...) and you have the possibility of Fantasmic! (there are rumors about it being closed all of May, I guess we'll see).

I think the crowds would be lighter the following weekend.

We've done both weekends in May in the past and haven't seen much difference in crowds. So I'd go ahead and switch your reservations too. I think anytime in early to mid May is wonderful. Unfortunately I can't switch our dates, so I'm hoping some of the crowds with die out on the 8th and be non-existent on the 9th. Have fun!!

I am truly hoping for a lighter crowd level after the potc4 premiere. We are arriving on the 7th and scheduled to stay to the 11th, and I can't change our dates, dh's job makes vacation scheduling a challenge.

We never stayed at Park Vue because of inconsistent reviews on this board. Best Western PPI next door and Tropicana next door to BWPPI have gotten more consistently positive reviews here. As have HoJo's up the street and CCI down the street. FYI

Oh no! That has me concerned. I read some Trip Advisor reviews and they all seemed pretty good for the most part. I originally had reservations for Tropicana (which I love), but it was for the week prior. I wanted to stay in the same price range and Park Vue met my needs. I guess I'll go through some of the old threads and see what is said about Park Vue.

Pirates of the Caribbean, the premier for the 4th movie is on the 7th, but since you're not coming til the 8th, you should be okay.

POTC is Pirates of the Caribbean. The movie premiere for POTC 4 is May 7. There have been lots of threads on this in recent weeks.

Hydroguy sums this up well... In recent months I have seen a more positive outlook toward Park Vue Inn, but like Hydroguy pointed out, there are consistently more positive reviews at the hotels he pointed out.
