May or September?

We went the first week of May a few years back. It was in the mid 90s all week, too hot for us! The crowds were fine though.

We went for the last week of August our first time out. Never again. It was stinkin hot and humid, and I'm sorry...but the 20 minute afternoon rain was always more like a hour downpour or longer, often recurring in the evening. Crowds were ok though. But we only had 4 days, so with the rain we really did miss a lot. And by our last day everybody was sweaty and smelly, no matter how many showers we all took.

So this trip we are trying out May. Super looking forward to flower festival and the food booths. We have seven days and hoppers this time. And while it will be hot, anything is better than the 10 feet of snow currently on my front lawn! LOL

Still unsure At least I have a little more time to think about it. I did look at crowd levels and it has that week of September 1's and 2's and May are 5's. How accurate is that for anyone that has gone in May?

We have been both of the weeks in question a few times - those estimates are pretty accurate. If you want to sleep in, a 5 crowd will feel much more like a 7 crowd. A 2 crowd will feel more like a 5 crowd. Why? Because the parks fill up and the lines get longer.

That said, even with the lines a little longer, WDW feels pretty empty in September. That is not the case at noon in May.

My advice - If you want to sleep in, go in September and leverage evening FP+ reservations.

May has better weather. Sept has lower prices and is less crowded.

Personally, I'd go with September. Yes, it can be hot and humid, but the crowds are lower. I can deal with the heat as long as I don't have a million extra people bumping up against me to make it worse.

Thanks for all of the relpies.....We have decided on May 2015. I would have rather gone in September because it is closer, but May will be better
