I have been to Disney the past 2 years in May but my husband wants to try October. Which do you prefer?:Pinkbounc

I'd have to say October. It is our favorite time of year to go to Flrorida. We are going in May and October this year and expect May to be HOT.

I'm not sure that October is much cooler than May, but I believe you'd do better with crowds. It's tough for me to get away either month:(

I've been in both months and I'd choose October...it's not as hot. We had a great trip in October & I'd go again at that time of year in a second (just can't afford to take DD out of school again so we're stuck with summer or March Break). :(

We too have stayed during both months and our choice would definitely be October. Our next trip will be in November. We love November the best. We were at WDW this past May and I thought for sure we were going to cook! Being from the frozen North we don't do "heat" all that well. Even early October can sometimes be a bit on the hot side but it did seem to be alot less crowded.

We have gone late April, early May and October. Late April is our fav. and then October. May was a scorcher.

We have gone both months and both are equally nice. However, being a mom I must point out that May is a much better time for us because our kids are not usually sick. October brings on colds and respiratory viruses that can dampen the mood of a vacation. I think it might rain more in October, but don't quote me. We went in May last year and it was HOT. However, we live in the tropical South so it sn't so bad for us. We love going in May and we already have reservations for May this year. The weather is BEAUTIFUL. We only had rain for two hours late one afternoon within a nine day stay! We went around Mother's Day and I have to say, the parks were not crowded at all. Ironically, this past December the parks were the most crowded I have seen them, and we went the first week. I would love to see MNSSHP, but I don't think we'll be doing October while the kids are young. Hope this helps!

We will be experiencing the "World" at both these times this year!
very Much looking forward to it though! :o)
I am interested to see which month fairs better. We've done May before!

October for sure...been there both times, and October was perfect weather, and attendance was small. We went in the middle-late october.

I agree that May can be hot, but we're going in the beginning of May this year, I like the F&G show, and look forward to the concerts!

The best time to visit Disney is Early May...before it starts getting so Hot.

We do BOTH every year! We love going in May--Flower and Garden--the weather is wonderful as spring is in full bloom. Crowds are moderate (also identical in October). We love October, as it is getting a little cooler, Food and Wine Festival, crowds the same. If could only do one, it would be May. (but that is EARLY May--stay away from Memorial Day weekend and the end of the month!)

I have not been in May, but we love October. The weather I think is perfect. But we really love it because of the Food and Wine Festival.

Well you should be fine on May 15th local schools strat getting out for summer May 21st.

DS's B-day is May1st, so we've been many times in EARLY MAY, which is the absolutely one of the best times to go!

Not too hot and humid.:sunny:
And the crowds are nice.

October is hit and miss, at least it was for us!

As for mid- May, the STAR WAR Weekends start, and every Jedi in training will be there every weekend mid-May thru Mid-June.
(SWW used to be whole month of May weekends).

But, not as BAD as the HUGE southern rush, which is the last week of May and the first week of June.
Everyone next to us, was from Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama....
Couple that with Memorial Weekend, and you've got
a HUGE CROWD!:crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded: :crowded:

So you're saying the week before Memorial Day will be bad?

We've been the week after Memorial Day the last three years and haven't found it too bad so we thought the week before would probably be great. I hope it's not jammed!

October. Nice weather, small crowds, still warm enough to swim, not as many kids because most folks don't like to take their kids out of school so soon after it just started.
