I know this has been asked a gazillion times, but hey...what's one more between friends???
Now that 2 people will not be going on vacation with us, I'm thinking of changing resorts. I know we can do POR, but I guess everything isn't going to be open until the 17th of July and that's too late for us. Where else could we stay besides Ft. Wilderness? We've done that before and don't want to do it again. I currently have 2 rooms at CBR but that's alot of extra money now for 5 of us.
Thoughts?????

Oh yeah...having 1 bathroom is no big deal for us because we only have one bath in our home so we are very used to it!!
(No modesty here!!! LOL)

Sounds like you don't like Disneys offerings for a party of 5. Fort Wilderness, POR or 2 rooms in a value resort all come to mind.

There are many offsite hotels, suite hotels and condos that can handle a party of your size.

You can use PL for 2 rooms (2.5 or 3*) and probably be in your budget.

If you're asking if you should violate occupancy rules (Disney/fire code) and put 5 in a room I suggest you post in the debate board.

Ummm...no...that's not what I was asking at all!! I was simply asking about other rooms that can hold 5 people, thank you very much.....
I know I have seen others and I can't do a search so I thought I would ask.

You can stay in a standard room at all the deluxes except AKL and WL, but you may find that it costs more than two rooms at CBR, especially if you have a good discount there. If more than two of your five people is over 18, you'll be charged an extra adult fee of $25. You probably know this already, but one person has to be under 9 to stay at PO -- there the extra adult fee is $15. Our family of five stayed in two rooms for the first time this year b/c it costs lots less than an deluxe. Good luck!

I know for sure the Swan holds 5, and I think the Dolphin does, too. Plus what a great location! The Swan is having a special beginning July 4th that you stay for 3 nights at for $169/night and get a 4th night free.

Sorry I misunderstood your post. POLY would be a good choice, large room and a good location. Two rooms at the Allstars would work. I think PO is the only moderate that can handle 5.

Not trying to sound anti-Disney but there are better options offsite. HIFS, Vistana and Summerfield all get good reviews. You might also try Hotel Royal in DTD. I think some of the rooms will handle a party of 5.

Quite alright on the misunderstanding :D

I don't have anything against POR, in fact before we were going to be 7, I had booked there. Then went to 2 rooms at CBR when we went up to 7. Now we are back down to 5, but with the news of POR closure I just wasn't sure if that would still be a good option. I'd hate to stay there if all the amenities aren't available.
Off-site is not an option...my husband refuses to stay anywhere except onsite! He's hooked. Plus with it being the 4th of July weekend, we don't want to take the chance of not being able to get into the park. It happened before when we were there....thankfully we were staying onsite so it didn't effect us.

Maybe I'll look into a deluxe because if it works out to be about the same as the 2 rooms I'll make the switch. We'd love to stay in a deluxe!
Thanks all...

if I were you :) I would opt for the Polynesian- two good reasons- bigger rooms (some only have 1 sink but you'll probably be okay with that) and the monorail- if you spend a lot of time at MK- then the monorail would be sweet! Plus you can take the boats to other areas. Now if you have teenagers and don't mind a smaller room I might consider doing BC/YC- they all have a daybed but their rooms are a bit smaller yet again their pool is probably cooler for teenagers than the Poly's.....also they have the Boardwalk nearby for Surrey bikes and Beaches & Cream- they're convenient for Epcot and MGM. I won't be hitting Poly until September so all this is based on reading tons of posts! :) Have fun choosing!

At this short notice, your choices may be limited. There may not be many standard rooms left at the deluxe resorts. Good luck. :D I think the standard rooms at GF, YC/BC, Polynesian all sleep 5.

There are rooms at the Contemporary that sleep 5.
Two queen beds and a daybed.
