If you don't drink wine much, you might not enjoy the wine tasting. Basically, the way Disney does a tasting during the Med cruise is to theme them to the countries we'll be visiting, ie, one tasting will be for French wines, one for Spanish wines and one for Italian wines. Since we're going to Tunisia, they could offer some African (South African I would guess) wines but we'll see. These tastings will be offered on the three Sea Days of our cruise. They typically have 2-3 white wines and 2-3 red wines arranged at each tasting seat. Someone from the cruise staff then shows the group how to properly taste a wine, i.e., 1) how to look at the wine (color, viscosity, clarity), 2) how to smell the wine (what fragrances do you detect) and finally 3) how to taste the wine (sweet, fruity, acidic, bitter). They talk in general about things to do and not to do. If nothing else, you won't have to be intimidated by what you should/shouldn't do when ordering wine at a restaurant. :)

We have not yet coordinated this fully; however, what we've talked about is for several DISers to open up their stateroom for a period of time (1-2 hrs?) so that fellow DIS cruisers can come by and see what the different category staterooms on the ship look like first hand. I've already volunteered our Cat 6 verandah room. I've personally seen a Cat 11, 10, 9 and Cat 1 (the Roy E. Disney suite). So, I don't think there'd be a group per say for it, except those volunteering to let people check out their staterooms. Others would free to come by without signing up for it.

Soooooo, anyone other guinea pigs, er uh, volunteers out there willing to let fellow DIS cruisers check out their staterooms? :scared:::yes::

We would be happy to offer our Cat 8 room as part of the crawl. We're in 6508

Both of my children, when they were younger, broke bones (Brian-wrist, Katy-forearm). We wrapped their arms up in plastic and tape. They couldn't submerge them but at least they were able to splash around a bit and wade.

Website Updates: Added some more pics to the Roll Call page: Friends of Travelbee (Martinez Family), MPS516
Updated the DIS Meet page to add DIS Wine Tasting, DIS Dining Lists and the Palo Brunch Groups.
Updated the DIY Rome excursion list to be consistent with Connie's (Travelbee's sig link)

I'm still catching up with tripodjw (Jane's) official Roll Call and FE list at the beginning of the DIS thread. If you're not on the Roll Call and would like to be, send Jane a PM, or if you can't yet send PM's you can send me an email by clicking the link on the main page of the website.

Hi Jeff,

I just wanted to say thank you for that the hard work and time you have put into this!! :thumbsup2

My daughter had the same fracture and her cast was off in 4 weeks so fingers crossed for you!
I will absolutely have to see about a waterproof option. That would be awesome. At least he could get in the pools and bathing wouldn't be an epic battle of wills. The idea of having the characters sign it would be sweet. The fracture was a hairline at the femoral head near the wrist so he may be able to loose the cast in 4 wks. We shall see. Did someone say they got their cruise docs! How exciting. Brings it all into focus now!
Ill post an updated list of the board names of who has PM'd me with names and res #'s. I will forward this to the conceirge but if anyone is not on the list and should be, please PM me.

Hello all,

My husband and I will be on this cruise with our teen son & daughter (18 & 17) and are looking forward to meeting many of you.

We have reserved private driver/tours in Naples and Rome and are looking for any couples or families of 3 or 4 who might like to join us. The company is Driver in Rome (driverinrome.com) is very highly rated and the tours are CVT02 Exclusive Best of Rome (all the major sites - 9hrs) and NAP01 Pompeii-Sorrento-Positano- Amalfi Coast (also 9hrs) We got a special rate, so it will be around 200 euro for a couple or 300 euro for 4 for each of these.

We are a very well behaved group ;) (hubby works for Disney here in Orlando) and this trip is to celebrate our two great kids who are graduating from high school and going off to college in the fall.

Please PM me if you are interested in joining us.
If there is a better place to post this type of thing, I would be happy to be informed. I am a forum posting newbie.

Happy Planning!
Kim

Kim,

I missed this post before. I'll add these openings to the web page under private tour openings. For those still thinking about private tours that have yet to sign up, Driverinrome.com is probably the highest rated private tour provider by cruise guests that is around.

We offer our Cat 7 room. We're in 5638

I don't know the name of them, but you can buy a blow up cast cover that is completely waterproof and fits over the cast. I've seen them before, but know where to buy them or what they are called.

We are in "main" seating for dinner.... which is that? Early or Late?

We are willing to open our room for the crawl, we have a cat 4, room 8010.

Kim, we are interested in 3 of your 4 empty seats. I sent you a PM the other day about it and sent you an email today. Hopefully you have them still.

Thanks

Cindy

We will offer up our cabin ---down in the bowels of the ship---Deck 2

We will have one of the famous "porthole" cabins -----

On a sad note, my nine year old son just broke his forearm in a bicycle accident and may be on the ship in a cast. His cast will likely be on for 6 wks and we have 5 wks to go! Ugggghhhh.

Sorry to hear that! Fingers crossed for getting that cast off early!

Main seating is the early seating. Thanks for the offer of your staterooms keho, Pilar, Jean and Cindy! :thumbsup2

I'd offer up my cabin, but I think it's going to look pretty much identical to yours, Jeff! :rotfl:
