We have planned a trip for May 26 leaving on June the 2nd for our family after booking I have found that the Gay celebration starts sometime around that. Can someone tell me when it starts and any thoughts about a young family and the childrens impressions that might be of a concern to a parent?
Thanks

This is a great opportunity to expose your children to the diversity they are going to see in their real lives. I am certain that the families that come to Disney for this week are just as ordinary and family focused as you are. Don't let sterotypes or lack of experience with diverse groups prevent you from an amazing vacation and don't miss out on an a chance to broaden your ideas.

I agree with Miskamouska We are all different in one way or another and we all need to except on another. Im sure you concerns are not of diversity but rather sexual inappropriateness, I dont know but I think you will find a new generation of gay or lesbian parents trying to have a great vacation too!
Hope you have a great vacation!:)

We are heading down on the 2nd so we will catch the end of it.

This will be our 3rd trip during this time DD was 9 when 1st time . We had a family living next to us at the time so it was no big deal at all.

Find their day in what parks and try to avoid as they will be the most crowded park at the time. The other parks we thought were very low level crowds as I think people tend to avoid all of Disney at that time.

They are just families having fun for the most part with a few over the top but nothing like could be seen at any other time in the parks or with Teens on the loose as well.

Just research the days they will be in what parks and have fun . I know MK is Sat the 2nd.

We were down last May and we really didn't see any however, on www.mouseplanet.com one of there writers wrote about Gay Days and how they are getting worse at the worls I would find the article in their archives and read it. We had another family friend that was there the same time we were and they had soem bad encounters with open affection etc. Although overall we had no trouble!!

I think that we have all encountered issues with too much public affection....it is usually from teenagers and straight folks!!!

:thumbsup2 We went last year during Gay Days with our 3 girls ages 4,6,8 and are going again at the same time this year ( May 27-June 2). And there were no problems at all. We never saw any couples hanging on each other or kissing in public. None of that! The most we saw was hand holding and the kids didn't notice a thing. You have nothing to worry about.
