Hi everyone!
I'm new here--been lurking for several weeks----and first off I just want to say thank you for the wealth of information, as well as the variety of opinions. I especially appreciate the comments from some of the posters who might not have had the best time...it helps me to keep my expectations realistic.
I have booked the May '06 Western (Woohooo!). From what I understand May seems to be a very good month for sailing, and I chose it in part because of some of the positive experiences I've read about on the DIS! (I was looking into July/August, but I am originally from Florida, and after I escaped (LOL) I promised myself that I would never go back during the summer months--- I don't do humidity well!) (May is "bad enough!")
I realize that the seas/weather are always unpredictable, however I was wondering if any of you who have sailed in May have ever not had warm weather or made it into a port because of high seas, etc?
My only other cruise experience was a 4 day Mexican cruise (Carnival) out of Los Angeles in February 2002, and it was cold, of course, and we didn't do any water related activities. (And didn't have a great time!) So I was really counting on the snorkeling (and warm carribean water) to keep us happy this time. (As well as the whole Disney Stuff for the kids!) (Boy I use a lot of parenthesis!) (And exclamation points!)
OK, sorry for being so long and rambling....my question again....has anyone NOT made their ports in May?
TIA!
