if this isn't the place let me know and i'll delete it.

i just have to get this out and i know you all will listen.

i was rear ended on my way home tonight. i watched it happen too. in my rearview mirror. i'm fine and all, but my truck isn't. the idiot who hit me could drive away; but nope, not me. i so didn't need this right now. at least the guy had insurance and everything should be taken care of. i have to call the insurance company tomorrow and let them know what's going on and find out what i have to do. :guilty:

hopefully, this will be a quick fix and i won't have to worry about this sucking money out of my disney fund.

I totally understand what you are going through. This happened to me exactly a year ago. It was raining cats and dogs. Well traffic had slowed down because of a police car and regular car on either shoulder of the road. The driver that hit me thought he would be real smooth and try and speed through traffic. Well I saw him coming, yelled to my husband through the cell phone, and then saw him hit me. My van was totalled, while my middle child's seatbelt popped loose (that was the scariest thing in my life.). By the grace of God, we were all okay. My husband was scared until I was able to call him back, as I threw the cell phone across the van. I hope things go well with you getting things settled.

This happened to my son in November 2005. He was stopped at a red light and with absolutely no weather related issues this guy just did NOT stop and plowed into the back of my DS' Chevy Trailblazer. Oh, he had damage but the other guy was driving a Chevy Avalanche and that was horribly banged up. Thank God, my DS was fine!!! As was the other driver.
Now fast forward...we paid for NOTHING!! DS had car rental on his insurance and so he got to pick the exact TYPE of car that he had (which was an SUV)! He got a 2006 Ford Explorer to drive for about 3 weeks while his car was in the garage. The appraisal man came and appraised the car at the autobody garage. They sent DS a check when the car was ready. Signed the check over to the mechanic and that was it. DS' insurance company dealt with the guy that hit him's insurance company and the rental car was paid in full by the guy's insurance company and that was IT!!!
We live in MA and although we have "NO FAULT" insurance there are a few instances where it really is someone else's fault like this one. My DS stopped at a red light, sitting in his car and BANG!!!

I hope you can get this all worked out, OP! And glad you are not hurt as well!
:wave2:

:grouphug: we'll always listen!! soooo glad your ok!! here's some pixie dust :wizard: hopefully it'll all work out with out a problem for you!!

Been there! So sorry to hear of your problem. Glad you're OK.

And - if you suddenly develop a habit of constantly looking in your rear view mirror while at a red light, stop sign, etc.- you are normal! :)

Yeah the same thing happened to me and my mom...we were stopped in a line of traffic waiting for someone to make a left turn and two guys in a huge SUV (we were in a Mazda Miata) slammed into us at 35 miles an hour (in a 15 zone, might I add.) What sucks is that they were both cops driving a truck registered to the FBI...guess who got screwed? :sad2: Glad things are going to work out better for you but I totally know how much it sucks!

Yeah, unfortunately I was also in your shoes. I was rear ended while stopped at a traffic light - you know when you hear the screaching of tires and you wait to hear if there is an impact... well I looking in my rearview mirror and I was the impact - pushing me into the vehicle in front of me. I was about 3 hours away from X-mas vacation. I wasn't going anywhere but didn't want the back pain that was inflicted upon me. Did I mention that the twerp who hit me's father owned a local car dealership. Ugh, anyway their insurance paid for everything. I had a rental car for a couple of weeks - also covered by the twerps insurance. It wasn't your fault and you should not have to pay for anything. I used the police report to call the accident in to the twerps insurance company - I still haven't settled I'm sure I'm due for another call from them soon.
Keep the faith!

This happened to us in 2002 right before our Disney trip! :furious: The repairs were all paid for but it wasn't going to be fixed before we left. Now, we drive to Florida every year and we needed our van, so now we were scrambling around trying see about a rental car or what we could do. We ended up taking my DW's car that only seats 5 very tightly :grouphug: ...and theres 5 of us...lets just say it was a very long drive!! :drive:
