I have been to Disney World in March for the last two years. I know they keep extended hours during the busy spring break season. This coming year we will be going towards the end of May. Can anyone tell me what kind of hours they keep in May? Do the parks close early at 5 or 6 o'clock or do they stay open later? Do they do fireworks every night like they did in March or do they only do those on select nights in May? I appreciate any responses.

Just another friendly bump here, too. :)
Also, just when is the busy spring break "season"?

The first year I went during spring break was the 2nd week in March(2004). That wasn't that bad. This year we went the end of the 3rd week through the beginning of the fourth week and it was horrible. This has just been my experience, not sure if it always holds true.

I been in May several times the weather is great and I seem to recall that the park were open till about 7pm and on weekends later, I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Its been 2yrs since I went in May.

I'm also planning a trip in May (2007). The link is a great help, but I have a couple of questions--Why would MGM have closed at 4:00pm on May 4th and EPCOT Future World & World Showcase closed at 3:00pm on May 5th? I'm just concerned that it may have been for some yearly event that could effect the dates I plan on going. Any ideas?

It was for the kickoff of the Happiest Celebration On Earth, a one-time deal in 2005.

Thanks Bob. I couldn't think of anything that usually happened around those dates to have such a strange change in the times just for two days. Now if you just make May 2007 come faster that would be great :goodvibes

I know you have the historical hours link, but I have been in May twice. The first week of May 2003 the parks were usually all closed between 5 and 6. In 2005 we went the last week of May and the parks were open much later - except for AK, between 9 and 10 most of the week. The weather was actually warmer the time we went in early May - strange heat wave. We found the park crowded but manageable during Memorial week and would definitely do it again! Have fun! :flower:

Gradnite is scheduled for the first friday the 5th and saturday the 6th in May 06. The MK will close at 7:00 on those days, I also think it will affect a couple days the end of april but I don't know those days.

Does anyone know when grad nites are? April - May or both? Also are what nights and times are they usually?

Sorry - I missed the last post.

::MickeyMo We were there this past May.

MK was open until 9pm, with EMH it made it 12am
MGM was open until 9pm as well, same EMH
AK was open until 5pm
Epcot was open until 7pm for FutureWorld and 9pm for World Showcase, same EMH as MGM and MK

It was great! ::MinnieMo

The only thing I'll add to the above is that, when I was there May 8 - 14 this year, there were 1 or 2 nights during that week when MK was open 'til 10:00 p.m., and the schedule showed me that as the month progressed there were more 10:00 p.m. closings for MK.

I thought I knew everything after living on the DISboards for a few months. That's why I was amazed how easy it was to get prime bench seats just in front of Crystal Palace, all ready for the 9:00 p.m. Wishes show. It was so perfect because we'd just gotten out of dinner there around 8:30 p.m. I was annoyed as well as embarassed when I learned that the park closed at 10:00 p.m. that night, with Spectro at 9:00 p.m. and Wishes at closing. Live and learn.

::MickeyMo Yeah! I think it was the nights that they had SpectroMagic going (which was Tues. and Friday). But it wasn't open till 10 when they had the EMH nights. ::MinnieMo
