May have to fly from Syracuse - Need advice please!

We were there two hours early for our flight on Saturday, and we had plenty of time...you would probably be safe with 1 1/2 hours, but I think I'd leave two hours just to be on the safe side.

Cool.. thanks for all this good advice.. Iam from Ottawa too and will look into Syracuse and Rochester... cannot beat those prices. we are thinking of going in Oct.. so while to yet

I was thrilled to hear about the JetBlue deals when I booked my trip a few months ago. I'd received a quote to fly out of Montreal for $2,500.00 for the five of us and ended up deciding to go with JetBlue which in turn ended up costing us $1,299.00 for the five of us. I'd have been crazy not to jump on that deal.

We are driving out the night before just in case there is some type of hold up. I'm too nervous in cases like this and I'd fear of any type of delay on the highway and missing my flight.

We booked a room at Candlewood Suites and they will be keeping our vehicle for us for the week.

I've never flown JetBlue btu others I know have and they have nothing but good things to say about their journey.

Best of luck and happy flying!!!!

Do you know if Jet Blue has email "specials" the way that Southwest and Spirit do? DD is in Kingston, so this is an option (SYR) that I am just beginning to explore.

If you sign up to be a TrueBlue rewards member (free) then you will get email notification of specials. Each Jetblue flight you take, you get 4 points (8 for round trip) when you get to 100 points you get a free flight anywhere they fly.

I got an email to let me know that the route I had already booked was now available as a direct flight. I called them ASAP, and they allowed me to switch to the direct flight (which was more expensive) at NO CHARGE! Not a change fee or even the difference in the cost of the flights. JetBlue is AWESOME!

You might also want to look into the possibility of flying out of Rochester. It's only and extra hour to get there from Syracuse and there are a few other airlines there that don't fly out of Syracuse. We are off to Albany to catch flights on Southwest. I got a great deal last fall for our flights this May. The prices are a little high now but they always have specials. Albany is 2.5hrs from Syracuse. For our family of 5 the price difference was worth the extra time in the car.

Hi all, I didn't see this before but, we always fly out of Syracuse direct to Orlando. The best ticket price I ever got was on Northwest and I paid 89.00 dollars p.p. round trip! The drive from here is soo easy and there is hardly any traffic. It's a really good highway too. Clearing customs in Gananoque is very quick and easy as well. I will never fly out of Ottawa again. It's just so much cheaper to fly out of Syracuse and it's an easier road to drive plus getting to the airport isn't so much of a hassle. In Ottawa there is NO freeway exit directly going to that airport and traffic backs up like mad.

We took a car shuttle service to and from Kingston once. I think the guys name is Tony. It wasn't cheap but, it was much appreciated after a long trip to have his shuttle van waiting for us when we landed after being in Florida eight days!

I don't think anybody will be disappointed with flying out of Syracuse from here! If your DD is a Queen's student I think Queen's even used to have a shuttle to that airport. That was years ago though and I think only at certain times of the year but, it was WAAAAY cheaper than the other private car service.

Have fun on your trip and look into Northwests airmiles plan. I have over 17,000 points for only two trips. You can get points for hotel stays, rental cars and shopping online. They add up a heck of a lot faster than our plans here do! In Kingston there are only two places to get miles on those plans and one of those places is the liquor store! I'd be an alcoholic before I could save up enough points to go anywhere on those plans! LOL!~~!!
