May experts, I would love your feedback

We want to go back for the Flower and Garden Festival and are trying to decide on dates. We were there the last week in April this year but thought we might try going in May hoping all spring breakers would be gone. Would either of the first two weeks be a good choice? Is one of those weeks better than the other? Please give me your pros and cons for each. We'd like to go before it begins to get really hot and before schools begin to let out for the summer. Thanks for any and all help and suggestions!

I think it was 2 Mays ago that we were there the first weekend, and really, we had cool and rainy weather, but I think that was abnormal. We have reservations for Mothers Day weekend 06, it may be more crowded, but we're treating my mother to whatever Mothers Day features they will have as well as the Flower show.

If I had a choice of weeks, I would probably pick the first one. I'm a teacher and can't go during the week at that time.

We've gone the second week in May each time we've gone now. So far it's worked out extremely well. Great weather and managable crowds. We've only been rained on once and that didn't last long. Hoping for another great week next May!

My Dh and I go every year in May, usually the first week. But
have gone other weeks in may. The first week is usually the best......
weather wise and crowds. Weather is great and the crowd level is
low. Hope to see you there.

Sounds like either week would be good with an edge toward the first week.

Anyone else been during those first 2 weeks with thoughts to share?

I've gone the first or second week the past 6 years. It's a great time to go. Weather can be hot, some years it was in the 90's but not real humid. This year was perfect, I think temps in the mid 80's (May 7 to 13). Very little rain, I think we had one evening of rain this year. Crowds usually aren't bad.

I have been the first week of May for the last 2 or 3 years. The temperature is pretty warm but still not real humid.

The other thing I like to consider is the bands that are playing for the Flower Power concerts. There are some bands that I enjoy more than others. I absolutely love the beginning of May. Whichever week you decide to go, I think you will be happy.

Thanks for the feedback-- we're booked to go 5/13-5/20 and we have never been in WDW in May. I'm hoping the weather and crowds will be manageable!

My DH & I were there May 21-28, 2005 and the weather was GREAT! I would go again in May in an instant. But, we are going in Sept. this year! Mostly because we are taking our 2 kids this time and Sept. is value season. But May is great----go for it!

PS-It only rained once...the night we got there.
