I've been reading these message boards for a year now and this is the first time I've posted. We are planning a trip to WDW with another family for the first week in May 2003. We will be going home to the WLV. Is May a good time to visit. How are the crowds compared to October? (October is the only time I've been to WDW) Is the weather nice? :earsgirl:

I was there last week - MK was jammed on Saturday night for Spectro & fireworks. The rest of the week wasn't bad, I'd say light to moderate crowds. Less than our October trips (1998 & 1999).

Weather was hot - 90 to 95 but dry. Normal is around 86.

I was also there last week - a good time to visit - The Flower and Garden Festival is always great to admire and then there's also the Flower Power concerts - the crowds weren't bad at all - most rides were a walk on or less than 15 minute wait. This time around, the weather was unusually hot but no rain to spoil the days. The only park that was crowded was MK but I find that to always be the one with the most people. Happy planning!

I've been down the week starting mother's day. I suspect the first week of May is great. Mother's day week can be somewhat crowded. I'm not sure why. Could be conferences, could be college students, private school students, band competitions.

We were there first few days in May, crowds were not heavy, longest wait time at the MK (Sat 5/4) was about 30 minutes (but we worked the FP system). The weather was unseasonably hot (some CM's say about 10-15 degrees than normal).

We like October and have a trip planned. Lighter crowds and cooler weather (than May).

Have a great time during your planning and an even better time once you get there.
But Crowds or not and Heat or not, we LOVE Disney and if we have time to go, we go.:D
