Hi all- My mom and I will be at IOA on Monday, May 9th and we're wondering what the crowds will be like.

We'll get there for opening at 9am - and will do Forbidden Journey single rider if necessary - but is there a chance that the shops and Hogsmeade area might not be too terribly busy?

We plan on doing the castle walk through after we ride Forbidden Journey and hope that we're at least able to enjoy the scenery and a butterbeer or two!

Did we choose a good day to go? Would Sunday have been better?

Sunday May 8 is Mothers Day, so I doubt that would be a better day to go, but someone else with more experience will hopefully give you their opinion soon. Have fun!

Early May should be fairly light crowd-wise. I usually am confident saying Sunday is better than Monday, except that Sunday is Mother's Day. I don't know how that would impact my usual "Sunday is always better than Monday" mantra. ;)

I think you'll have a good time either day and I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised with how much you'll be able to do.

ETA: I was just noticing on another forum where most people who posted did not notice any increase in crowds for Mother's Day. This was talking about that other Orlando-area attraction. Click here if interested: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2698393
