I just read a thread about discounts over the Christmas holiday. Our family is still pretty new at the disney inside and outs. I am in need of advise.

Our first Disney vacation was 3-05 and we are starting to think about our next one. I am in nursing school and can't miss class. DH works seasonally and doesn't have vacation in the summer. (must make hay when the sun shines). DS (11) struggles with school even when he is there every day.

SO, we have are thinking about either 12-20-06 to 12-27-06 or 12-21-06 to 12-28-06 at the Coronado resort. My questions is: Do I book now or should I hold off for better rates? I am sort of an obsessive planner.

Thanks for your help!!!! :earsboy:

It might not be a bad idea to book now. That is a very popular time of year at WDW and by booking now you will ensure yourself the resort/dates you are interested in.

If a better rate comes along you can call and have the discount applied to your reservation, provided they have discounted rooms available at your resort. :)

Keep in mind that the last day in December for Value Season rates is the 19th! So if you're also looking to save a little $$, make sure that at least the first day of your reservation/trip is on the 19th. All the other dates in your ressie will have the same rate even though it will be the Holiday Rate Season. :teeth:
We will be there at the same time as you!
Have fun planning!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin,

Thanks!!! i didn't know that if you stayed even one day in the value season, the rate stayed with you. Appreciate it. Have a wonderful time!!!! I can hardly wait. I am obsessing already. I think it will be a long year.

I booked for December 13-19th today and feel good about it :goodvibes you can always apply a code later, such a sense of security to get that confirmation in the mail and know your reservation is secure. :sunny:

For our Christmas trip in 2003, we booked Dec 19 -30 and got the same rate for every day, the Value Season rate! :teeth: :cool1:

Waiting is the hardest part.........isn't that a song?? :rockband:

I think I would feel better about knowing that I was all reserved. I think there would be nothing worse than no having a room for when you wanted to go. Thanks Cass.

Bunchkin,

Do you go right through Disney to reserve? When do you think it gets the busiest during Christmas?

We just booked  we are using Deb at Magic for Less, she is awesome! We are going Dec30-Jan6, but the first two days are holiday rates and the rest are value, so she told us to book now so we have the room and then when the 2007 rates come out she will book a second reservation to get the cheaper rates, we may have to change rooms but we will be saving over $200. :cool1: Hope that helps.
