Hi

We went to Orlando last June and had a fab time, and are thinking of going in May - is this also a good time to go - any school hols etc or should it be fairly quiet?

Our daughter starts school next Sept, so next year is really the last time we can go out of school holidays...

There will be 4 adults and 3 children going (4yr old, 2yr old & 8mts old) I was pregnant when we went in June - so will be able to do the rides this time :Pinkbounc

Looking for a 4 bed villa nearer the attractions (last year stayed in Southern Dunes - really nice, but too far out) anyone recommend a villa they have used??

Thanks
Nat

Let the planning start :flower1:

Hiya Nat,

Late April / early May is probably our favourite time to visit. You can miss the easter crowds, and get in before the US schools start their holidays in June. It can get fairly busy later in the month around the memorial day holiday however, so bear that in mind when making your plans.

Another tip you might bear in mind is that scheduled flights tend to be a little cheaper if you can travel in the last few days of April compared to the first days of May. We're going mid-April next year and it was around £220 cheaper than going two weeks later.

IMHO May is probably the best time of year to go, it's nice and warm, but little humidity so you don't feel too drained, it's not too busy as there are no school holidays plus the flights and accommodation is pretty cheap.

Villa wise I'd look for somewhere in the Splendid China area, there are a number of reputable local villa rental companies to choose from and with the exchange rate at these levels you may find using them to be not as relatively expensive compared to booking direct with an owner as it has been in the past. If you're happy renting direct from an owner I've found some very good deals were being offered on VRBO.com recently.

Best time to go, weather is great and crowds minimal, apart from memorial weekend the last weekend in May.

There is also british School half term in May as well, and you will notice a difference in crowds, but not unbareably so!.

Another thumbs up for May here- with the weather being hot but not oven/ blow- torch style like in July plus (when I was there at least) you dont get the daily thunderstorms. :D

Hi,

We stopped at POFQ May19- June 10th this year and we found it unbearably hot and humid, booked for next year in December!! We didn't do half the things we intended as my daughter couldn't stand the heat past 1-2pm every day!! Once the rain started towards the end of the holday it did become a little cooler, but stormier!! Maybe that is because we come from the cooler, fresher area of the pennines in the north!

Its a great time to go. We tend to go late April-early/mid May & love the blend of quite crowds & warm weather. As you can see from the countdown we depart April 29th with our DS's aged 2 & 4. I am a bit worried about next year though because theoldest starts school in September......
