I'm not sure we have that much room in the suitcases with all my clothes and shoes!

We are leaving here on 26th April, staying overnight at the airport in London before flying out on 27th, so have just over a week at Disney before we sail....hence the 'early' ticker!

And the marathon of everything Disney last night was incredible....it put us all in the mood! We have our Disney cruise planned for May 5th, we are going to Disney's Hilton Head Resort in August, but now my kids are asking when is our next WDW trip....so I need to start planning one of those now! We always feel better knowing that we have something to look forward to!!!!!!

My guess is that when Tracy typed it she used a colon and then put the other info in parentheses without a space. She just meant to put info in parentheses like most people have. Unfortunately, if she missed putting in a space, the colon plus parentheses converts to either a happy face or a sad face depending on whether it is the ( or ) parentheses. Also if you use semi-colon plus ) the computer will automatically convert it to a wink. It's just how the coding works and I'm sure wasn't intentional. But for future refererence its a short cut for putting in smiles if you want to use them.

Well I have some bad news. After 7 months of loving being a SAHM I'll be heading back to work in a week. I didn't want a full time job. I was just hoping to find a part time position, but I got a call out ofthe blue asking me to interview which I did on Friday and today I got an offer. I'm off to do the drug screening test this afternoon, but that and background checks are just formalities. Like the Godfather, they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The good news is that they don't have a problem with the time I need to take for the cruise or the June 1 - June 6 trip to Hilton Head that Devin and I have planned with my mother. Of course, I won't see another vacation day until next year and will be working like crazy to take care of my caseload in advance, but what can you do.

So full time employment is going to significantly cut into my DisBoard time and I probably won't be around as much, but even if I disappear a little bit, we'll still plan to meet everyone aboard the Magic.

Hi Everyone, I have been reading and keeping up with all of you, but not posting.
I just wanted to say that i hope you all have a fun cruise, I am not sure if we will be much a part of the dismeet just because everyone has little ones and mine is such a "man"... I do hope to stop by quickly and put faces with names.
I am trying to get our t shirts printed out, but messed them up. I do have the door signs done and one says "Dis member on board", so if you see it, stop by and say hi. The main part of having door signs is so that my ds doesn't spend the first three days of the cruise trying to open someone else's door! Last cruise he went to the wrong floor and tried and tried his KTTW card and finally someone opened the door and it wasn't us!
Luckily it was another Dis'er that we had met in the terminal. Can you imagine if this wasn't someone that "knew" ds?

The travel channel show was great, really got us in the mood to go.

I better go..hope everyone is doing well.

i have about had it with my ssinuses..woke up thyis morning with it back into an infection.. going to make an apppointment with the dr and let them know this needs to stop..2 months is long enough for this crap.

hope you all have a good nite..i did record the marathon...well most of it.. need to watch the last couple of episodes that was on after 10pm..i am looking forward to a 3 day weekend off this weekend but be a busy one with easter and amber's party.

DD dear daughter, DH dear husband, DS dear son, in my case DGD dear granddaughter! It takes a while to get used to all of these new codes! I still have a really hard time with all of the Disney abbrevs.

Tracy...I still have the sinus thing going on too. Sometimes it's fine for a few days and then starts up again. I have had this ongoing since December. I'm hoping the change of weather in Florida and tropical climate might help. If not....when we get back I'm also going to the doctors. I have not sneezed this much in my whole life!

Ok...so anyone doing the beer tasting? I think my DH might like that. I need to go start a thread and see what all it takes.

Sorry about the sinuses and hate to be te bearer of bad news but it's probably gonna get worse - after 70 degrees today it is supposed to drop down to 30's and 40's again. Seriously, my head can't handle this crap either.

I only saw the Magic Kingdom and other parks segments which I've seen parts of before. Now that I know I'm going back to work full time and will be working at least 60 hours a week, I'm rushing like a crazy woman to get everything ready. I miss being a lady of leisure already! Those suitcases in the floor will be packed as much as I can pack them by tomorrow night - it's my mission. Gotta get the rest of the iron-ons actually ironed on too. Gotta call DCL to confirm the package info. The list goes on and on.

Hi everyone, I have been on a mission to find out if any one has sent a package ahead to the ship, for example to send the kids hi gifts.
The following was my only answer and it was from Dave Marx, Mr Passporter himself!

I've never heard of this being done, but I called DCL to ask.

Yes, it is possible, but there are some restrictions:

Packages must be labeled with the Guest name, Sail Date, Ship, and Stateroom #

Packages must be accompanied by a packing slip detailing the contents (presumably, affixed to the outside of the carton).

You can't send luggage, food products, wine, liquor, chemicals, water, and similar items (this is in addition to DCL's long list of items that are not allowed on board, including knives, tools, hard-sided coolers, etc.). In other words, you can't ship things ahead to get around DCL's regular luggage limits, or to "provision" your stateroom.

The package must arrive by 5:00pm the day before cruise (I presume that would be by 5:00pm on the last business day before the cruise for Sunday sailings or sailings following a holiday).

However, with a 3:15pm start time, I'm not sure parcel delivery will be practical in your case. If the parcel is treated as luggage, than there's an excellent chance it wouldn't arrive at your room in time for your meet.

Another alternative is more costly, but it's worth a mention. The Perfect Gift in Port Canaveral is authorized to make deliveries to the ship (they're a florist and gift basket shop). You'd have to pay a handling fee of some sort, but you may be able to ship your items to them and arrange to have a gift basket waiting for you when you board. You can call them at Perfect Gift at 800 950 4559 to see what's possible.

Groups and travel agencies often arrange with DCL to deliver customized gift baskets to staterooms containing group/agency-supplied items. This may be the most costly option of all, since DCL would probably insist on making individual gift baskets, rather than serve as a simple shipping agent. It never hurts to ask, though - 800 601 8455.

So unless we brought everything in a carry on, which is not possible for me, luggage wise we may not have our gifts by 3:15

i have to decide if i want to do the perfect gift thing myself this week..i am ordering a hat for dh to be in our stateroom but i have not been able to get ahold of ************.com as that was where i wanted to get our gift basket from to start with..so i have to call and figure out what and how much this week thru the prefect gift.. amber has her 4 y old well check on monday so if her sinuses arent any better i will say something to the dr then...mine i will hang on till next week and if not better will call dr then as they are out all this week. me and amber took a nap yesterday from 3:30 - 7pm and then went to bed at 8pm and we both was up and down all nite coughing and having hard time breathing.


i don't drink so the alcohol testing is out for me...and you can take bottled water right? just can't ship it ahead of time correct?
