May 5, 2012 Fantasy

Another Monday rolls around :surfweb: ...but at least it's one more Monday closer to our cruise :dance3: I'm very ready for some new news on the Fantasy and what's going on with her right now.

Hey guys. Sorry I havent' been posting much. We still haven't figure out which cruise we are going on in 2012 :confused3 I think when the 2013 dates roll around we will have more idea. I really want to go in the spring, so we will see. We are off to WDW in 3 months. Starting to get excited about that. I too wish we would see more details about the Fantasy, should be something coming out soon. We obsessed over every news report for the Dream!

That's so funny. Just today I was going thru and old file cabinet I thought was empty. Inside I found several TA books with the DCL announcing the up coming Disney Magic. A letter telling me that they would be taking reservations for the cruises in September 1996!!! During the 2 year wait was horrible... no date of sailing.. no real itinerary and not really a price, because the date changed 3 times and everyone who kept their orginal ressie kept getting discounts! Lucky for us we didnt mind the date changes. With the discounts we were able to stay at the Grand Floridan for 4 days. That was back in 1996 (1998) and I still get excited over any news about the ships!:woohoo:

I hope you stay with us and then book something for 2013 while on the cruise... even if it's a dummy date!

Wow, you have been cruising for awhile. My girls would love to stay at the Grand Floridian. We hit the Poly the first year and the Contemporary, now I rent dvc points as it is so much cheaper, so we Bay Lake Tower visitors. I have some winter depression and having a spring trip really helped me immensely last winter(especially too as my mother had passed away the year before and it was the first winter without her), so I would really like to go on this May trip. Having something to look forward to all winter was so nice and took my mind off of our ugly dark cold days here near Pittsburgh! The way I look at it too, I will only cruise once in 2012, so does it really matter which month?? The cruises are comparable in price too. See me rationalizing, haha....

We are going to WDW in November too :cool1:  I think a spring sailing will be perfect, plus as you said, something to look forward to after all those cold/nasty winter months! :goodvibes As Annie said, you can always then book ANOTHER cruise onboard....it's addicting when you start :rotfl: I did a dummy date on our last cruise just to have something out there, but the minute I knew I had a deposit down I was already trying to figure out which cruise we would take. That's how we ended up on this one. :dance3:

Hello all. My name is Samuel. My wife is Kristieseem1. She made me a profile on here cause i am a disboards ADDICT and I have been posting via her name and she told me to get my own. I said no so she did it herself... So i have to say that I am so excited for our trip. I think I am more excited then both my wife and daughter combined.

I have to say that our last trip this past February really helped us too. I lost my mom in march of 09. My wife lost her mom in December of 09 and her dad in October of 2010. I feel your pain and hope that you can lean on the good memories you had of your mom. When we where down at Disney in february I could not help thinking of when my parents took me to Disney in 81. So remember the good times and how much she loved you... by the way. Where in PA are you??? we are in Emmaus PA outside Allentown

Glad you got your own user name, even if it was by force. :rotfl2: My DH has no clue what the name of these boards are, let alone how to use them! Just as well though, we'd never get anything done if we were both DIS addicts.:rotfl:

Never got to go to WDW with my Dad before he passed, but I'm taking Mum (at 83 years old) for her third trip this year and I already look back on the other 2 trips and know that it's good memories we're making here.

We actually live right across the Ohio border, right on the Ohio river in a small town called Wellsville. We are about 30 min from the Pittsburgh airport. :thumbsup2 I was very blessed to have my mom as long as I did. When I was 21, she was given 2 months to live with metastatic lung cancer. We all know what the survival rate of that is... but she was the miracle, I found a dr in Youngstown Ohio(where I was a young nurse) and he said, lets try, she is going to die anyhow... so he went in took her lung out, took the lymph nodes in her chest out and gave her radiation. She lived 25 years!!!! on that one lung, and great years they were. Lived alone(just three blocks from me) saw me get married, have babies. :cloud9: I was truly blessed. Our Nov 2011 trip is "Grandma's trip!" Rented points for Bay Lake Tower on some money that I got from the sale of her house. Asked for the standard view, and it wasn't available and the guy had already booked the Magic Kingdom Castle View.... I took that as a sign from mom that she will be there with us!!!

Well August is half over. I really want this time to go faster. I was on Meyer Werft's website and the put the rear funnel on the Fantasy...

Tonight is a GREAT night. Turned the ac off and all the windows are open and the temp is going to be a cool 58 degrees. Great sleeping weather. Oh and the Phillies are winning too.:cool1::cool1:

Same here :rolleyes1 104 yesterday, and no end in sight, plus severe drought conditions...

Thank goodness we have the thoughts of tropical breezes and tropical beverages to help us through it. :thumbsup2

I didn't know they had those random pictures on the Meyer Werft website - very cool - thanks for the head's up on that. :goodvibes

Don't envy your 115 and 104 temps:eek: but would love it if we could have a little bit of heat over here! We've just had a cold and very, very wet summer with flooding:sad1: Fleece, waterproofs and wellies for me now until we arrive in Florida on May 2nd! Can't wait!:yay:

You'll deserve a good dry hoilday in May!
All you need to say is "It's Cinco de Mayo... Pass the tacos!" :rotfl:

Tomorrow is 8 months till our two week vacation. Today was a day from HELL. We lost power at 12:30 last night thanks to Irene. We woke up to 4 inches of water in the basement. Glad that the furnace and water heater are up on cement platforms. This 8 months must go fast. We where able to get a generator to get the pump running and pump the water out. now the dehumidifier is drying the basement out. I know there are people out there that have more damage but this was to much for us. We had no power for 13 hours. thank god it is almost over. the winds continue to blow so we have our fingers crossed that we do not lose power again...

I'm sorry for all the damage Irene has caused  but I'm glad you are all safe! Hopefully, the clean-up process won't be too difficult!
