May 4, 2013 Fantasy 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Still looking to see if there are any other parents who would like to get their kids writing letters before the cruise.
Our DD (Age 7) already has 1 new cruise friend and she's looking for more. She loves to write, and she loves to get mail.
If you're interested, PM me.

Hey everyone!

We have a large group traveling (8 - 5 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant) and we are trying to figure out the best way to get to and from Port Canaveral. We will be staying at a Disney resort Friday night before the cruise and another Disney resort Saturday evening after the cruise. We were originally thinking that we would use Disney transportation but we were thinking we might save some time and money if we use a third party.

What transportation is anyone else using? Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations??

We would like to get back to the resort as quick as possible on Saturday so that we can possibly make it to a park that day.

Thanks in advance for your help.:)

We have used happy limo (check with mouse savers for a discount). Great service and was cheaper than Disney. As far as making Saturday a park day, you should have no problems we were back on property before 10 am and we took our time. Hope this helps

We also have an infant my dd will be 7 months how old is your little one. We are having trouble finding shore excursions we can do with the baby. Any suggestions?

Thank you for the response. I am going to check in to Happy Limo and see what the price will be.

Our ds will turn 1 on May 3rd. We were having trouble finding excursions as well. I was considering the Sea Park at St. Thomas but it looks like there are going to be 2 other ships there that day as well so it may be super crowded?? Looks like we have St. Maarten to ourselves so we may try a beach day there. We were also just considering a half day off the boat in the mornings and then enjoying a smaller crowd on the ship??

Are you planning on using the nursery at all? It would be nice to have some adult-only time but I don't want ds to be miserable either.

Hi! We would love to join the group sailing on May 4th! :)

Yes we are planning on using the nursery for a couple of evenings to enjoy a quiet dinner with a little extra after to enjoy a drink. And then we are hoping for a palo brunch and maybe the afternoon on castaway cay. (have never checked out serenity bay). But that is all dependent on how she is in the nursery. She is a pretty easy going baby though so hopefully no problems. And I just realized that I keep saying we but really since I'm leaving DH at home with our other kids and going with my sister I should be saying I as I am the one solely responsible (all the more reason for a break!). I have used the nursery before with my at the time 14 month old son and he really enjoyed it.

As for the port days we haven't got anything planned and I might just stay on board and relax/check the ship out. Order room service read a book (ah who am I kidding I'll be entertaining DD). Will just see how it goes.

We're doing the Orient Beach Rendevous on St Maartin with our 20 month old. The excursion is for all ages and transport is by bus so we don't have to bring a carseat.

Hope that helps!

Hey fellow cruisers, my DS 9 is was very excited to see your signature has a Stealers Fan. My boys loves those Stealers! :jumping1:

Is that from disney? I couldn't find one with that name. There is one called French riviera beach rendezvous and one called afternoon beach bash both are at orient beach. The beach bash is only 3-3.5 hours which would be ideal with an infant but not keen on the afternoon aspect. Babies change so much that I don't know how much she'll be up for that I will probably not book anything until much closer. I would hate to be stuck somewhere for 3hours with a baby who needs to get out of the sun/heat.

Disboards meet will be 3:00 D-Lounge on embarkation day. The back up location will be O'Gills at 3:00 if D-Lounge is taken. Hope to see everyone there!

Good info, hope to see other DIS'rs there.

Yes - it's the French Riviera one. I know - schedules are crap at that age. My guy just dropped morning naps and hasn't settled on a consistent time for his big nap of the day. I'm not planning around nap time. We're bringing his umbrella stroller and the ergo carrier so one way or the other if we're off ship and its nap time he'll sleep.

We're sticking to walking tours or other sights available on foot at St Thomas and we figure at CC we can spend the morning at the beach and then head back to the ship for lunch/nap. So St Maartin will be our only day with definite beach plans.

Not traveling with the kids this time :( I will miss them but looking forward to a nice relaxing time.

We're from lockport and traveling with other from NT....stateroom 7180! Any children coming with you and if so, how old?

I'll figure this all out some time haha. No kids this time :( I will miss them!!! But looking forward to the rest and reaxation ;)

Looks like we should have a full cruise! When my husband called to book the other day it was sold out for those traveling with kiddos!

Welcome to all of those who have joined us!

How does a meet up right before sail away sound? Or since there are lots of families with kiddos we could do one the first sea day?

Where did you get this info? I just did a quick search and my family of 2 adults 3 kids ages 6,3, infant and this cruise showed up with ocean view and balcony rooms available?? Just seems odd that it would show up if it's sold out. I know that certain life boat stations might have reached their child capacity. Maybe a different age group is sold out. Like the edge or vibe??

I checked as well and could find rooms. Could only find gty rooms for certain categories, but could still get kids in.

It looks like rooms became available. The DCL rep was the one who said it was sold out for anyone traveling with kids. Cruises sell out based on life boat capacity and kids clubs capacity (this is what we were told by DCL).

Welcome aboard those who have joined us!

Welcome Aboard!!

We also have a facebook group going - so if you'd like, please feel free to join us over there as well!

Anji (anjiellisvt) has been coordinating the FE group, she has set up a link on the very first page of this thread to sign up. You can also sign up for the list via the facebook page -- she has a link out there, as well. I don't believe she has closed the FE group yet.

This is our first time on the Fantasy as well - only sailed the classics thus far - we're very excited to explore this beautiful ship!!

Hi Everyone....

I joined the FE group yesterday. I'm new to the boards. I would love to also be a member of the facebook page. I have tried searching but have been unsuccessful. This will be our third Disney cruise; Magic May 2011, Fantasy May 2012 & Fantasy May 2013. However, this is our first time participating in the FE groups. I was unaware of them for the first 2 visits and am excited to join the group. Any info you can share with me would be greatly appreciated.

Leigh:)

I just sent you an email (via your email on Disboards) with a link to the group -- hopefully it will work.
