to all the CA Dispeeps and the LA Kings!

As a Californian, I say YUCK! I didn't want them to win. I was beyond thrilled when they eliminated Vancouver, happy when they tossed the Blues, but that's as far as I wanted them to go. Would have loved to see Phoenix or Nashville come out of the West.

For any of the people who just got off the Fantasy, a co-worker told me they went on a Disney Cruise a little while ago, and they confiscated their alcohol and only let them drink it at dinner.
Their policy on-line still states you can bring whatever as long as you put it in your carry on luggage... anyone have any experience bringing their own?
To me, BYOB is the biggest cost-saver of the Disney Cruise Line.

It's been a few years for us -- but we've never had any issues. We brought alcohol with us on all 3 past cruises. If I remember correctly, one of the security agents commented on our stash (which he could see on screen when the bag went through the xray machine) in 2009 - asked if we had brought enough to share :lmao:Told him sure, he just had to get on the ship and we'd be happy to pour him a drink :thumbsup2 As long as it's in your carry-on you shouldn't have any problem. In 2010 we didn't bring much because we were in Europe -- but I bought a couple of bottles of wine at the port and carried those on with us -- again - no issues.

We didn't take any on board with us last time. We never end up drinking it because the fruity drinks on the ship are so much better. However, we have never had trouble bringing it on in the past. You have to take it in your carry on luggage and you're not supposed to have your own alcohol in public areas, but you can still have it. I've never heard of it being confiscated before.

Just wanted to wish a Happy Fathers' Day to all the other Dads out there. Hope it was a good one!

Happy Father's Day!

Okay - I'm on here to brag a little :goodvibes. So proud of my oldest -- he made the Junior Hurricanes U16 "b" travel hockey team today!! :cheer2: A real big deal for him since he took a big hit against the boards, at a semi-final playoff game in March (2nd to last game - their team was in 1st place), that broke his collar bone. A week after the hit, we found out that he needed surgery to set the bone back into place . He's now the proud owner of a metal plate and six screws in his collar bone.:scared1: So, he's worked really hard in physical therapy and was cleared just three weeks ago to start skating and practicing/conditioning! He was hoping for '"A" team - but we're pretty excited that he made either team!

Congratulations, and OOWWW!!! I don't hear much about hockey here in North Carolina but my boss is a big fan and trains goalies. Must be increasing in popularity down south.

Glad to hear he's recovering well... although it's unfortunate that the metal plate in his collar bone will mean he's getting the full body scan/patdown whenever he goes through a metal detector. :)

Thank you! Yep, the hockey program, especially here in the Raleigh area is pretty big. I think youth hockey really started to pick up in 2006 after the 'Canes won the Stanley Cup. I know that's when Connor started to really want to play.

Congratulations!

Yeah, we've tried to tell him that he's in for fun at the airport from now on - luckily we don't fly very much so he won't have to go through that too often while he's still a kid :)

Congrats to your son....I don't know much about hockey as my kids were into football (broken ankle for one son) and track....But we have friends who had children in Hockey and I know that it is a rough sport!!!:woohoo::cheer2:

I checked Virgin America's website today and we are thisclose to being able to book airfare. They are open for booking through April. Of course I am still hoping that we can leave a few days early and spend some time at WDW before we set sail. We love EPCOT and I want to see the Fantasyland expansion since it will be complete by the time we would be there. However, I still need to get a job to pay for this stuff and I'm not starting my serious searching til September. I did interview to be a personal assistant for a pro athlete which would have been interesting and then I interviewed for a city job. Unfortunately, I was the #2 choice for the PA job and I completely blew my city interview. Being a stay at home mom for 6 years certainly puts a lot of tarnish on interviewing skills.

Hello- my husband and I will be joining you on this cruise. I'll try to read the entire thread this weekend so I can catch up to all of you.

I finally read the entire thread - so now I'm all caught up and have a few questions:

We have cruised with Disney before with kids, but this is the first time without. I am 56 and my husband is 61. Will we enjoy ourselves? Are there activities geared towards adults?

Will there be a pirate night on our cruise? Do people wear costumes? What actually takes place?

Will Cinco de Mayo be celebrated? If so does anyone know how?

What night is the fireworks show? What time? Best viewing area?

Are tips automatically added to our on-board account? Or should I bring along the "Mousekeeping" envelopes I've used previously at DW?

Do we need reservations for the evening entertainment? Are there production shows, comedy shows, musicians every night?

Do we need reservations for lunch in Paolo?

Thanks in advance for all your help. I'll stop at these questions for now. I'm sure I'll have more in the future.
