My son will turn 12 on embarkation day.

I would like to be apart of a meet and the FE. But not sure how to do that?

Send me your room number any kids names and ages (only if youre comfortable) adults (dont need age) and any celebrations during the cruise if any. Also if is more than 1 household in a room.
Ex: my room is booked with My grand mother (1 household) my aunt and her sin (1 household) and myself (1 household) we all live in different houses.

It was fun with the WAVE phones to be able to text some of the other dis-cabins where we were going and meet up. We did shows with a few people, met up at castaway part of the day, etc. I'll take the lead on the bracelets in a few months... It's so nice being able to pick dis-friends out of the crowd. I think last time a few cabins just threw in $15/ea to help cover the cost for the whole order of them... But we have time!

Gotta get my Aulani vacation paid for and taken first!

Once we're closer to the date I'll schedule the actual meet and greet. Bracelets are a cool idea as well. It will make it easier to tell which gaggle of tween girls belongs to us .

Just a reminder that we have an email list going for the kids. So far it's all girls and I think all of them will be 11-13 at sail time. If you want your child included either PM me here or message me on facebook. It's probably best to provide your child's email address and an adults address, if different, so that we can get in touch with each other if necessary. I'm trying to keep a spreadsheet up to date so parents will know which email addresses they should expect in the child's inbox.

And wow, this thread has grown quickly! Should be a great group!

It's important to note that you MUST send a friend request. We can't add non-friends to the cruise Facebook page. Absolutely feel free to un-friend me once you've been added. My feelings will NOT be hurt as I'm probably one of the least entertaining people on Facebook lol!

I happened to notice the "Other" mailbox on Facebook. Apparently many of you tried sending a FB message to me first. Unfortunately FB doesn't send any kind of notification that a message has arrived in the "Other" mailbox. Guess they really want to get use to pay the $1 to send it to the inbox.

So, send a friend request on FB along with a PM here letting me know you want on the cruise page. I think so far only one person slipped through the cracks, sorry Sonda, and I discovered that tonight.

1. Where do you live? Kansas, but I'm an Iowa girl at heart.

2. Married? How long? will be 14 years this summer to DH Matt. Tho I snicker at the 'D' in DH every now and then

3. Do you have kids? How old will they be when we cruise? Two girls, who will be 10 and 6 when we cruise!

4. Do you have any pets? We have Max, a bichon-shih tzu mix whom I adore. A betta fish, a water frog. And funny thing, we have an aquarium that had 5 fish and 3 ghost shrimp in it. Then we went to Iowa this weekend, came back to 3 dead fish, 2 dead shrimp, and a new baby fish?! Weird.

5. What do you do for a living? Part stay-home mom, part work-from-home travel agent, part school lunch lady (I can rock a hairnet), part make-cakes-and-stuff for people.

6. Is #5 what you always wanted to be when you grew up? (or, for the youth in our group, what do you want to be when you grow up?! Well, I didn't really plan on the lunchlady gig, but working at my kids' school, being a SAHM mom always sounded good.... and I love the travel gig!

7. Favorite movie? Goonies, Couples Retreat, Christmas Vacation

8. Favorite type of music? Top 40 stuff, 80's, Radio Disney

9. Favorite TV Show? Amazing Race

10. Where did you go to school/college? What did you major in? Iowa State (the cyclones, not the hawkeyes!), majored in communications and sociology with a minor in religion.

11. Do you like to watch/play sports? What kind? Fave team? Eh... I like to watch playoffs and the big games for basketball and football, but not a diehard of any of it. I have a friend who loves the falcons, so by default I like them too--- and Iowa State has so much of my money of course I love the cyclones!

12. What do you like to do in your spare time / hobbies? Bake, Facebook (is that a hobby? It is for me!), read smutty romance novels, crafts, movies

13. Favorite vacation ever? our 2011 Disney cruise. met amazing people, it was on the Dream, we had two days at Castaway and one of the days we did the private cabana thing. H.E.A.V.E.N on Earth.

A little side note. I spent 7 years in the Navy and anytime my wife suggested a cruise I responded that I'd already been on too many. DCL intrigued me though so we gave it a shot and we had such a wonderful time. Far more fun than I envisioned!

It is myself, DH, DS (22), DS (20), and DD (18). We will be in two different cabins on Deck 8. We have not been on the new ships before but love the Wonder and the Magic. This group looks like fun and I am so excited to begin planning!
