May 31, 2007 Wonder

I just read the thread about "fish extenders."
Is anyone taking a fish extender? I'm wondering if I need one. If you all have one, then I think I need one.
I'm about ready to go and having nothing better to do than worry about weird stuff.
A fish extender. Seriously. Only on the DIS would I encounter this type of problem.

No fish extenders here. :) I've got enough to keep up with!

Ahhh.. I just sat down, been working in the yard for a few hours. DS and I planted some flower seeds in a new bed I made on the side of the house. :)

I'm having a blonde day. I just looked down and my shirt is inside out. All day my shirt has been inside out... oh my gawd. :rotfl:

I need a vacation!!

mal - LOVED the trip report! :thumbsup2 She was fabulous! Thanks for sharing...

On the way to drop my girls off at school this a.m., I asked them if they knew what today is. They looked up long enough from Nintendo DS to say "Tuesday." Ok, right, but what else is today? No response...

It's MAY!!! And you get out of school in May, and go to Disney in May and go on a ...OOPS..... cruise was supposed to be a surprise! I caught myself at the very last minute. DD7 looked at me quite strangely and said "What?" I responded that we can go swimming in May...not sure she bought it. Our plan is to leave AKL to head home and head to the port instead!

I also have not packed, made signs and am generally unprepared. Only 25 more days until we leave for WDW!

Agraygirl - I feel the same way. I'm more excited about the cruise than the parks and I LOVE Disney! I'm basically just ready to be off work, with my kids and on vacation! DH has already started complaining about how long we'll be gone - I invited him again to come, but no takers - just doesn't understanding my Disney obssession;) . I'm pretty sure last year the only reason that he cruised with me was that he was laboring under the misimpression that there was a casino on the boat:rolleyes1 . No - I did NOT tell him that but I did offer bingo once we were on the boat :rotfl2: He had a good time in spite of himself!

Can't wait...how many minutes???

p.s. - Jim - our Palo ressies are CC night - if girls are enjoying clubs!

Sorry,I have been reading but way to busy to post.Either I am working, cleaning packing or working on the school fundraiser.I have just started to pack but I usually pack until we walk out the door.I am just so anal and make such a huge deal about it that it takes forever.I did start getting my daughter packed though.( she is the easiest)

We have early dining, are staying on the boat for Nassau,no palo,??? for meets right now.I plan on coming but the family is questionable(my parents don't believe in meeting people from the internet)

Looking at the list the last few days will be really quiet since most of you will be in Disney already.

that's all right you and I can chat because I will be so excited I will hardly be able to stand it, we won't be doing Disney until after the cruise. I know everyone feels they need the relaxation after Disney but I feel like I don't want to be let down when I leave the cruise ship, and leaving Disney nothing can make that better - even the Disney cruise - So I choose the ship then the world.

I think my mom probably feels the same way your mom does about meeting people on the internet - How do we explain to them this is different -- These are not just people they are others who share our compulsion (yes, that is the right word) for all things Disney. I can't believe you are starting to pack already. I think I'm compulsive but its really I obsessively plan and pack at the last minute. Getting so excited....

Mal-

Just watched your slideshow- it is great!!!!

We had the same servers on our cruise last June! They were wonderful with the kids! You must have visited after we did because the Black Pearl had not wrecked (:) ) yet at Castaway Cay during our visit.

mallscott - Thanks for putting a recent 3 day navigator up. I am psyched b/c the kids should want to attend the activities during our Palo dinner. Love the rugrats, but on Day 7 of the good ole family vaca, I think we are going to be ready for a break!;)

Is anyone doing any spa services? I booked my mom for the hot stone massage and myself for a facial but after reading some bad reviews on the facial, I cancelled. I am thinking that I am going to be too busy racing from activity to activity to enjoy the spa:confused3 Can you tell I'm type A and not good at relaxing?????

Have a great night....off i go to clean up this pig pen:laundy:

Hi to All,

Not much longer,

Jim.

D$H :eeyore: here! I was just reading our weekly Passporter e-mail and saw this Q&A entry with Jennifer and Dave that I thought might be of interest to y'all who are dragging your kids (kickin' & screamin') onto our ship:

VayKay Vicky asks: "I know I read that Flounder's Reef is for children age 3 and younger but what are the babysitting options for someone who has an older child (my son will be 3 months shy of age 4 when we go)? Although he is potty trained for the most part, he can be hesitant to interact with large groups of kids. We will certainly stay with him for some of the programs he wants to attend in the Oceaneer's Club, but since it's our 15th wedding anniversary, we would like to have one night of 'adult' time at Palo. I was just wondering if they would watch kids that are slightly older for a few hours?"

Dave and Jennifer answer: "Flounder's Reef does accept children age 3 who are not fully potty trained. It sounds like your child would qualify for care in Flounder's Reef. It is a smaller space than Oceaneer Club, so he may not have as much play space as he needs, and he'll probably be bigger than most of the other kids present. I suggest you keep your options open. You can visit Oceaneer Club with him the first evening of the cruise to see how it works for him. He can play quietly by himself if he's uncomfortable with the other kids. With a couple of visits under his belt, in all probability he'll be fine with Oceaneer Club by the time it comes for you to have your special night out. However, if there is a problem, Flounders should still be a viable option."?"

BTW, if you haven't already checked them out, the Passporter team provides a good source of info on Dismania (we love their cruise book). Anyone else here read their stuff? Hmmm, I still don't know why anyone would bring children on a Disney cruise....

Tanks for the info Mal's DH. :D We will be partaking of Flounders ALOT. I get the Passporter news regularly.

I thought some of you might find this humorus:
http://slashdot.org/articles/07/05/04/019218.shtml
"Apparently Japanese TV and bloggers have just discovered Disney's theme park in China, where young children can be part of the Magic Kingdom and interact with their favorite characters (like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and the Seven Dwarfs). The park's slogan is 'Because Disneyland is Too Far,' and there's even an Epcot-like dome. The only problem? Disney didn't build it, and they didn't authorize it. What's more? It's state-owned!"

Okay so Im quickly reaching my self imposed limit for posting in a day...

My DH and I have a hobby called "geocaching". You take a little GPS unit (like the "tom tom" but more portable) and find hidden "treasure" all over the world based on the longitude and latitude quardinates. I've found about 20 caches in Tennessee/Mississippi so far... but anyway...

There is a cache on Castaway Cay:
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cach...23-9bed-452c-8aed-6226154cc0f8&log=y&decrypt=

They tend to have little toys in them and a log to sign that says you found the cache. It's ALOT of fun. Especially on road trips, you can hit a few on the way to your destination.

K, thats all.. back to house work. :laundy:

Thanks for the compliment DH does it all. I love the captions he puts on the pictures. Hope you got to see some of DGD too!!! I guess I'll keep him. As far as spa services, I read on the budget board a great idea. That was to get a massage the day before you leave to kind of start the vacation early and you can get so much more done because of the price difference. Think I'll do that rather than spa on the ship - way too expensive. Already scheduled to have nails done and pedicure so why not a massage. I can't beleive how close it is getting

PS by DH :eeyore: -- "I just love how you $ave money!!"

Good idea! In addition to the cost, I'm just too selfish about my "cruise" time to take out the time for a massage.

Pins and door magnet arrived today. They look GREAT!!!!!:cool1: Way to go, a graygirl!:thumbsup2

4 weeks from tonight will be PIRATE NIGHT pirate: and fireworks under the stars! Can't wait!!!!

Sending everyone Pixie Dust for a fabulous weekend:wizard:

:sail: party: Got our pins and magnet - woo hoo. Do you all realize that the week before our cruise the new POTC3 comes out

We got our pins and magnets today as well. They look great, thanks agraygirl. POTC3 trailer looked really good.

Everyone have a great weekend,

Jim.

I am really hopeing that they play potc3 on the ship. I would not be too suprised if they did. However, if they do expect the theater to be mobbed. They premiered ladder 49 on the last trip we were on the same day it was released in theaters. I may try to buy tickets here to get me more in the mood.

Went to Home Depot Today and got my Mickey Heads for door Decorations. My computer broke last night so DH and I are sharing his laptop. Well probably need to go. Not much longer!!!

QUESTION????
Where are we going to meet for the sail away party - also how many children will there be? I'd like to buy bubbles or some other little thing for them if there aren't 100 of them.
